***Bubic Day: Official 5/3/25 Royals @ Orioles (Sugano) Gameday Thread***
SP Kris Bubic
1. Jonathan India 2. Bobby Witt Jr. 3. V. Pasquantino 4. Maikel Garcia 5. Michael Massey 6. Brad Renfroe 7. Failed son of Craig Biggio 8. Ferm-Dog 9. Kyle Isbel SP Tomoyuki Sugano 1. Cedric Mullins 2. Adley Rutschman 3. G. Henderson 4. R. Mountcastle 5. Ramón Laureano 6. Heston Kjerstad 7. Ramón Urías 8. Jorge Mateo 9. Dylan Carlson It's interesting that trade rumors suggest the Royals will trade Jac Caglianone and other players for Cedric Mullins. We could be getting a sneak peak at the Royals newest player, which is exciting. https://baseballiseverything.com/cou...imore-orioles/ |
Nick Loftin .301, 26 BB, 13 Ks, 7 SB, 0 CS, 1 HR, .914 OPS
|
Another fun fact about this game, other than the Royals trade target being the lead-off hitter. The #2 hitters for both teams were drafted back-to-back in their draft year. Rutschman was the first overall pick out of Oregon State, kinda similar to how Travis Bazzana out of Oregon State was the first overall pick last year, and how Aiva Arquette out of Oregon State will be the first overall pick this year.
So it's #1 vs. #2, both in the 2 hole. Grudge match. |

Where are you getting that lineup from? Is that just your best guess at the lineup today?

Also, I’m a little disappointed in your trolling effort today. You post on Royals threads enough to know that they are not like Chiefs threads. Meaning, while everyone and their brother will post on a Chiefs thread (hence a much easier place to troll), the only people who post on Royals threads tend to be people who are passionate and knowledgeable about the team. No one here is gonna fall for your BS about the Royals trading our best prospect since BWJ for a mid player like Cedric Mullins. Do better.

I'd be surprised if Salvadore Perez is in the lineup. When a player like him goes out for soreness, I don't buy it, cause the guy has probably dealt with soreness his whole career. So why does soreness now take him out of the lineup? I'm concerned that it's like "elbow tightness" when a pitcher is screaming in pain. But I've been told I'm not optimistic enough about these things. If that lineup ends up being wrong, I'll stop using that site as a reference. But it hasn't been yet. |

Bearcat thinks I'm a Carlos mult. Invisibill thinks I'm Ubeja Vontell. Others think I'm a Hammock Parties mult. The truth is, I've been a lurker for some time; I come from 2 plus 2. I was always a Chiefs fan, and there I was at my favorite message board, and some cat named suzzer mentioned chiefsplanet. I hated the site because of the signatures which take up way too much screen space, so I didn't pay much mind to this place. Then after several years I realized if I actually signed up for an account, I could HIDE signatures, and boom, the place became readable and fun! That's my backstory. But this is not about me. It's about Adley Rutschman vs. Bobby Witt Jr. That's what today is all about. And Bubic. Potential isn't enough. Flashes aren't enough. We need Bubic to be an ace and the time is now. I have faith in him, but not a ton of money anymore. |

Okay, fair enough. Don't take my responses as vitrol, I enjoy your stuff well enough. Your not like Dipshit or anyone that would get on the banned list. But I will give you shit when you post ridiculous stuff about Cags getting traded when the article you linked doesn't come close to mentioning that. |

A Mullins deal would make a lot sense for KC if Baltimore does move him.
I can't see them moving a top 100 prospect, let alone a top 25 guy like Caglianone in that deal. It would be a significant departure from recent trade costs and trends. What would make more sense is probably dealing from some SP depth or their catching depth. I wouldn't see Mitchell or Jensen as options, at least not straight up. KC would need something back to move either of them. |

If Johnny Giovatella was any good at baseball, he would have caught on elsewhere. He did not. AAAA player all the way. |

Yeah his career amounted to nothing in the scheme of things. That wasnt his fault, it was the Royals fault. And yes, Mullins sucks balls. You're wrong about that too. He's cooked. |

AJ Pierzynski cost the Angels the 2014 world series with trash cheating. There's gamesmanship and then there's outright cheating trash. **** him.
|
10 ****in pitches to get 3 outs....
|
It’s rare for Bobby to have 2 shit at bats in a row.
|
If we can't get Ryan O'Hearn out at least serve him up a beanball sandwich.
|
Renfroe did something good!
|
Who the hell is running this show? You get the game underway on time, just to delay it an inning later due to rain? ****ing idiots...

Game on.

Having Ohtani on that list is BS. Lorenzen is the active leader in actual pitcher homers.

Atta boy Maikel! Coming through. On the board!
|
Garcia rules this season so far.

Damn. That crab cake sandwich looks ****ing awesome

Maybe we should stop doing that stupid shift?

By several years, do you mean he got one season of full time AB for a bad team, posted a sub 700 ops, was never a regular again, and was out of baseball two years later? Gio just wasn’t quite good enough. The Royals certainly didn’t hold him back. He just didn’t hit enough. And Mullins is cooked? He’s one of the best hitters in the American League and has been an above-average performer offensively for five straight seasons. Maybe sit a few plays out and don’t talk for a while. You’re embarrassing yourself. |
These FOX announcers sound like they are speaking with a pillow over their mouths.

I think Renfroe has just hit the wall physically. He’s a percentage point or two less than what he was, and that’s enough to make him look bad.
|
Looks like Bubic is likely done based on the scene in the dugout...
But back to Renfroe... I know this isn't the best example at all... but I clearly remember Mike Schmidt tearfully announcing his retirement in early May of 1989 because he felt like he wasn't performing up to his own expectations and was turning into a liability for the team. His numbers weren't good, especially for him, though he was 39 years old. But his numbers upon his retirement ****ing blow Renfroe's away. He had 6 homers, 7 doubles, 28 RBI and an OPS+ OF 91. Hang em up Hunter, I might actually gain some respect for you. |
Damn man. I think Vinnie has to sit for a few games or something. His homer per 8 games or whatever is not worth the almost automatic outs the rest of the time.
|
Or how about the Royals make the move because it's painfully obvious? If I were a Renfroe I'd probably hang on as long as I could. It's not his job to cut himself.

Just to play “devil’s advocate” (not disagreeing with you because I don’t disagree) but Schmidt was beloved in PA and a shoo in HOFer. Renfroe is a journeyman who will be forgotten almost immediately after he retires. Maybe he can’t yet face that reality. |

Guess Renfroe isn’t comfortable enough with his future yet. Or some shit. Why else would you continue to be embarrassed daily? Other than lots of $, of course. |
Looked like Massey could've made that stop.
