So is todays Tennesee Vs. Miami game going to be broadcast nationally??

Just curious......anyone know?

WilliamTheIrish 09-11-2004 08:16 AM

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did Miami not just play last night vs Fla. State?

chief52 09-11-2004 08:20 AM

No, it will not be televised nationally. Apparently there is an "agreement" of some type between the NFL and the NCAA so it will not even be on DirecTV.

I say screw the NCAA. The NCAA used to have a rule that they could not play on Friday nights so as not to interfere with local high schools. But when ESPN started throwing $$$$$ around, it was too much for the NCAA to pass up. Can you imagine how much fan support local high schools in the Florida area lost last night due to the FSU/Miami game?

The Titans are playing the Dolphins today because of the next hurricane. I heard it wasn't being televised.

Deberg_1990 09-11-2004 08:24 AM

Yea..now that i think about it..they probably cant broadcast it because of prior commitments to a college game.

WilliamTheIrish 09-11-2004 08:26 AM

Oh shiot... the Hurricane.... It's 72 degrees and calm here in the heartland. Forgot all about that calamity down there.

It's really not your fault. You can't be held responsible for the ignorance of K-State fans. :p

Thig Lyfe 09-11-2004 08:27 AM

Only on Florida and Tennessee affiliates.

DirecTV does not have a prior commitment, though. I first heard DirecTV was going to broadcast it...then all of a sudden they said no.

They are replaying it at it's regularly scheduled time tomorrow.

And pre-empting another game that could have been shown? Sounds like they missed an opportunity to make some cash.

No, they will not really be pre-empting anything on DirecTV as they have a bunch of channels. They will just be showing it on another channel right along with all the live games.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that I heard that the game will be broadcast nationally on the radio...for all you die-hard Miami / Tennessee fans. (Did I mention both teams suck?)

NFL Sunday Ticket is not showing it live, but replaying it on Sunday. Sirius is broadcasting the game live.

Screw McNair...as long as MASON gets his 4 TD's I'll be happy :)

(can you tell Mason's on my ff team?)

Rain Man 09-11-2004 10:22 AM

If you can't get it on TV, just take the following and read it over and over and over.

"This team looks like it really misses Ricky Williams."

"McNair completes a ten-yard pass! He's the toughest player in the league! No one can hold a candle to Steve McNair when it comes to toughness!"

"And it looks like Miami is going to have to punt."

"This team looks like it really misses Eddie George."

"Annnnnd Miami's offense stalls out again."

"Boy, Steve McNair is one tough quarterback, isn't he?"

It is in the air somewhere. It is being sent back to Nashville and shown live there.

Hey, now. Don't make me take away you're walker...

Truer words were never spoken, Rain Man. But you forgot: "If Miami continues to look like this all season long, Coach Weinstadt could be looking for a new job at the end of the season."
