On the other hand, I also see several people who think we're going the way of Raider-fade because we're old. That's really no different... you're comparing two teams from different years that have something in common. I do it, everyone does it, it is just an example of a team doing something extraordinary to let us know that something is possible. Nothing more, nothing less....

Next to the "deprogramming the D" excuse this is the most heard statement at 1 Arrowhead drive. The Patriots had the majority of their players on their team that actually played in a Super Bowl where we have maybe 1 or 2. Big difference.

I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say, but much like the Panthers, the Pats are another good example of drafting well on the defensive side of the football. I mean, philosophically speaking, the Chiefs are not that far off from doing the exact same things the Pats and Panthers have done... in terms of philosophy it's very similiar. The difference is we have not done it well, we haven't drafted well, we haven't coached well, we haven't gameplanned well. You look at the Pats and Panthers and they are perfect models of what we want to do defensively. The Panthers drafted 9 of the 11 defensive starters you saw today... the Pats drafted McGinest, Law, Seymour, Bruschi, Ty Warren, Eugene Wilson, Asante Samuel... what do the Chiefs have to show for the numerous defense draft picks we've made? Fujita? Sims? Wesley? Hicks?....

Not to worry, Chieftains. Both the Patriots and the Chargers started off at 0-2. I predict your fate will fall somewhere in between that of those two.

What I was trying to say is that I hear players and fans alike trying to rationalize their performance by saying that well since the Patriots went 0-2 and won the SB then we will do it. That is totally BS and unrational. 2 totally different teams coached and managed very differently. You are right in that we haven't drafted well but the Patriots have and they have made the "right" FA signings for minimal money.
I think our biggest problem is the player personnel department and being able to recongize talent on both sides of the ball. We have failed miserably in that department.

2 teams have won the Superbowl after going 0-2. NE added Tom Brady and Dallas added Emmit Smith, unless we get a killer defensive player, I just don't see it happening.

Fact. There was an article in the Star not too long ago about it. The Patriots are 1st, Redskins 2nd and the Chiefs 3rd. Buffalo is last.

They were wrong. I just checked ticketmaster and saw the NYG games are 85.00 for upper level, Tampa Bay is 68.00, Oakland is 69.00.

NE can be had as cheap as 49.00 for upper level, which is less than the Chiefs upper level.

And that is only a random sampling.

I don't know I tried to find the article with no luck. They were talking about average ticket prices or something like that.

The first time the Pats won the Super Bowl, their average ticket price went from $47 to $76... a 60% increase. They've led the league in ticket prices by a good margin over the last three years....

These were single game tickets listed at Kcchiefs.com. I still can't find that article.

The Chiefs have raised their ticket prices every year that CP has been in charge except after the 1998 meltdown season.
