Feeling a little sorry for Warfield right now..

Granted, it's his own fault, but after years of looking lost and being aptly nicknamed "toast", he is really looking like a corner. I mean we have not had a corner making plays like this since Dale Carter. Hasty made plays, but he did it with his head more than with speed. Warfield has it all, but must have an IQ of a hampster. You just can't drink and drive, period.

Dude... Eric Warfield is DA MAN.

shaneo69 09-27-2004 04:05 PM

Does anyone know if Warfield made it home okay last night?

Deberg_1990 09-27-2004 04:08 PM

Its amazing......Warfield used to be the "poster boy" for our maligned defense....now he might be the most consistant player on it......Ill give him his props...hes playing well right now.

ya, not too smart to keep getting DUIs, but he is starting off to what looks like a career year for him

Back when we drafted Warfield I proudly boasted to a friend/Bears fan about how we had gotten ahold of a guy who was gonna be one of the best shutdown corners in the league. He's still got room for improvement but man I'm glad he's come around the way he has. I actually have confidence in him finally. He's actually become one of those players that you EXPECT to make a big play a few times a game.

Eric Warfield is a man on the football field.

I can tell you exactly what's going to happen to Warfield. He's going to pay a huge fine. Be suspended for the 1st few games next season. And spend a month in jail in the offseason. When alcohol starts to become a problem in your life as regards to your job and personal life. It's probably time to sit down and admit you have a problem. Time to quit drinking. Time to consider going to A.A. I know, I've been there. Haven't had a drink in over 7 yrs now.:thumb: And you know what? I don't miss it either. Except on a hot day after mowing the lawn and a image of a ice cold Millers pops into my brain. :deevee:

When the image of an ice cold Miller pops into my brain, I go into the kitchen, boil some water, steep some rice in it for an hour... and then chill the ricey mixture in the freezer.

Ahhhhh... The refreshing "taste" of any American pilsner-style knock-off...

Congradulations to you alanm :thumb:

Warfield like many are frustrated, but the drinking won't help him. I see an excellent player this year that will go far! :p

No doubt. It blows my mind that Budweiser is now advertising "fresh" beer. That is, in select markets you can get beer that was brewed less than 24 hours ago...and they seem to think that's a good thing.

Yeah, I feel real sorry for him. At least he can wipe his eyes with an assortment of large bills from his signing bonus.

Yeah, I feel real sorry for him.

Warfield has been playing really well. Got to think it has something to do with Gunther's return. Remember, it was in Gunter Era One that Warfield became a prize prospect for this team, which result in the huge contract he has. Since then, G-Rob was here and he looked average or worse. Since the return of Gunther, he looks like he might have been worth that contract after all.

let's hope it continues.

There's plenty money to be made to pay those silly DUI fines. Any good sports agent will tell you, turn a negative into a positive. How? Endorsements! Merchandising! This is the NFL for cryin' out loud!!! A modest example is attached:

I don't recall Warfield worse than average. People have dogged him for a long time (due to a bad play here or there), but he's always been pretty consistently good defender. Am I really defending an NU alum?!? :(

jcroft 09-27-2004 05:54 PM

I'd say he's been consistently inconsistent over the past three years. He's made a handful of spectacular big plays, but he's been burt on at least as many big plays going the other direction. Over the past three years, I don't think he could have really been called any better than average.

David. 09-27-2004 06:09 PM

I remember when he was a rookie and made a ridiculous int by the endzone. I knew he had the talent then. He just had to get his head right.

OmahaChief 09-27-2004 06:28 PM

I have no sympathy for him at all. Infact I strongly feel he should be in jail as we speak. 3 freaking DUIs and this clown is still driving? I don't care how much money he gives to charity, how many ints he has or how sorry he is. The next time he gets into that car drunk he might kill a loved one of mine. **** him and I hope he and all drunk drivers rot in jail.

I'm completely puzzled by this post.

The guy has a drinking problem and he's a very average CB getting paid good CB money.

He's just lucky that it's so easy for teams to run on us. Otherwise, he'd be getting burnt on a weekly basis.
