Larry Johnson on trading block... Chiefs interested in Keenan McCardell... nothing new.

But with Charlie Garner out for the season, could Keenan for LJ be a real possibility now?

Brock 09-27-2004 04:44 PM

If all the Chiefs get is McCardell, it's a stupid trade. Very stupid.

HolmeZz 09-27-2004 04:45 PM

We'd be dumbasses to trade LJ for McCardell straight up.

Thig Lyfe 09-27-2004 04:45 PM

Well, not straight up I hope.

I agree. McCardell has one or two more productive seasons left, LJ's career is just beginning.

Spicy McHaggis 09-27-2004 04:48 PM

If we trade LJ for McCardell straight up I'm going to rally an angry mob to march down and drag King Carl through the streets. Just to let ya know.

the Talking Can 09-27-2004 04:49 PM

trading LJ makes no sense at all....a very Bengal like thing to do....DV leaves next year, Priest retires, and we trade away a first round RB for for a 67 year old WR....then we have to draft a WR AND another RB....brilliant

DV is signed for this year and next..........Coach isn't going anywhere. LJ maybe, we need help. Defense needs help but even on ESPN today they all blamed King Carl not the players!!:thumb: About dam time they ragged on him and not just all of us here.

Tribal Warfare 09-27-2004 04:55 PM

Another classic King Carl patch up job for one year. After this Keenan will retire with his cash

Only trade LJ for hte right deal, Mccardell straight up, hell no!

jcroft 09-27-2004 04:58 PM

I'm not convinced the Bucs would really be that interested. Gruden has always been very high on Pittman. I don't think he'd forsee LJ taking Michael's spot as the starter...

papasmurf 09-27-2004 05:00 PM

McCardell?????????????????

Just what we need another possession receiver.:banghead:

I second that motion

Yeah, but he's a possession receiver who can catch.

Exactly.

At least he can gain possesion in the first place.

HolmeZz 09-27-2004 05:09 PM

I don't like when you agree with me. Makes me feel kind of stupid.

The Bad Guy 09-27-2004 05:10 PM

I'd do it for McCardell and Ryan Nece.

Nece is a underrated linebacker, who played pretty well last season for TB.

Johnson doesn't have a future here, and I would say he was a one-year wonder in college as well.

I don't think he's the RB of the future at all. Johnson will pout every week until Holmes retires and that may not happen until Johnson's contract expires.

I'd love to get Antonio Bryant for him, but I doubt Dallas does that.

HC_Chief 09-27-2004 05:11 PM

McCardell AND a LB? Too good to be true :(

I concur wholeheartedly.

the Talking Can 09-27-2004 05:13 PM

there's no reason why he couldn't have a future here....trading away a guy that young, that talented, and already under contract just becasue DV holds a grudge makes no sense at all....

HC_Chief 09-27-2004 05:17 PM

It makes perfect sense if we obtain a WR and/or LB... our two biggest areas of need.

Yeah... the LB would be key though.

That said.............I can't see Carl having the stones to get something done, that will actually help the team.

I agree with this statement by Iowanian, and a LB would be nice but their isn't anyone available. King Carl will screw this up, because he doesn't give a rats ass about this team.

Hammock Parties 09-27-2004 05:43 PM

Bringing in McCardell won't help if Dick Vermeil and Trent Green continue to make bonehead decisions.

I guess it can't hurt though.

whoman69 09-27-2004 06:55 PM

I have zero desire to see McCardell in a Chiefs uni. We don't need another 30 year old receiver on this team. Didn't we learn our lessons with over the hill CBs enough to know that you don't do the same with recievers. If this team is not going to make the playoffs, they need to get younger, not older.
I'd much rather see McKenzie but that's not going to happen.
