He was an early progressive alt-comic, who morphed later in life into an activist for victims of juvenile molestation. He was one of the first to identify and target the threat of online predators.

Saw that his wife has stage four non-Hodgkins lymphoma. I believe the diagnosis came before Barry's did. That must have been very strange and sad for them.
