MLB Playoffs on TBS??

Wow..

I guess like the average American, the major networks dont care about MLB anymore...

Ultra Peanut 10-03-2007 07:45 PM

I hear they had to pay TBS to take them.

Deberg_1990 10-03-2007 07:47 PM

IM guessing by next year the playoffs will be on CMT or Spike leading into the Dukes of Hazzard reruns...

You're just trying to be inflammatory. MLB set an attendance record this season.

Gee, thanks Bud.

Luckily I don't have TBS.

You're welcome. Come see the Brewers!

But really, this crap annoys me. At least we're going into the playoffs today with no idea of who's gonna win, every team has a weakness. We're barely into October and we know the Super Bowl is a 90% chance of being the Colts/Pats in the AFC playoffs for about the 6th year in a row.

That doesn't necessarily mean the average television viewer wants to watch it.

Actually, the "attendance record" is accounted for by increases in just four cities. The rest of the teams experienced either stagnant attendance or a decline.

You can probably guess which four cities had the increases, by the way.

You bring up a good point actually. Personally, i think people enjoy going to see a baseball game in person during the summer because its something fun to do with friends. Eat, drink brew, chat with your buds, etc....

I dont think the average person enjoys watching a game on TV, because its slow and methodical.

Hootie 10-03-2007 08:08 PM

I honestly think sometimes you just make up random stuff to argue, thinking I'm not going to have that information. By my count, 24 of the 30 teams had increased attendance this year. And most of the ones who dropped were the teams that people thought were going to be playoff contenders that totally flopped, like the White Sox, Cincy, Oakland...

L.A. Chieffan 10-03-2007 08:17 PM

I don't have a problem with the games on TBS, at least I don't have to listen to McCarver. The Dane Cook promos are gonna kill me thou

tk13 10-03-2007 08:19 PM

No kidding. It's worth it just to get Steve Stone back in the booth. Really all the announcing teams have been pretty good... better than FOX.
