Beltran and Damon were the only reason to watch the Royals in the late 90s early 2000s.

So yes.

This is just my opinion of course but there's no way I'd put Beltran in the Royals HOF due to his blatant cheating in Houston.

He does not belong in the same breath as George Brett, Paul Splittorff, Fred Patek and all of the Royals greats from the past.

Good point. Forgot about that. I would have to agree

You know what? I agree. I’m reinstating my WTF in regards to Beltran.

Yeah, Beltran can **** right off too. Didn't we go after him in FA pretty hard when we were contenders? I wanna say that he accepted a lower offer from someone else or something like that.

Total facepalm.

No, **** Dan Glass.

Beltran was willing to do an extension and then Glass threw a fit when Beltran’s agent requested $1M more/season.

Mike Minor & Bobby Witt Jr had good games today.

poolboy 03-06-2021 04:41 PM

They need to find a spot for Witt Jr...its time

Yeah... no.

He's close and might actually be up this season... but the guy hasn't even played full season minor league ball yet. They need to test him in the minors a bit first.

Starting him at AA would be an aggressive move, but I could see it based on his performances at major league camp last year and this spring.

Chris Meck 03-06-2021 05:18 PM

I don't want to put anybody in from the shitty years when we had to let everyone good go because we couldn't afford them.

None of these guys were great Royals.

Ventura I put in because he died young.

The rest of them? Nope. You don't get claimed here when you went and took the big money elsewhere.

If you won a WS here, then we can talk about it.

I'm usually a "bring em on up" guy, but no way in hell should Witt Jr. be on the opening day roster. If he smashes for a few months at AA, then I'd bring him up.
