Dawson revealed in a pre-draft diary entry for USA Today that the Carolina Panthers, Atlanta Falcons, Minnesota Vikings, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs all have arranged visits with him. That's a lot of activity for the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Dawson could play inside or outside linebacker at the next level, and has a reputation for being especially stingy against the run.

Woooo

TCU's pro day is on the 27th.

I really like Dawson. Where is he projected to go?

Dawson looked like a dough boy at the combine, not sure where he is projected in the draft now....

Beast mode in this game:

Pre-combine he was a late 1st/early 2nd rounder. After his awful combine day, who knows.

He claims he tweaked his hamstring while running his first 40. If he runs a 4.7 or lower at his pro-day then I think he projects back to those spots.

Nightfyre 03-23-2015 10:17 AM

If he tweaked his hammy, he should have tried rolling down the track on that tire he carried around his waist.

RunKC 03-23-2015 12:59 PM

Great story on Dawson here

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...tian/23253621/

I think they are checking his character wth these visits. As a player he's the best ILB prospect for is IMO. He's damn good against the run and damn good in coverage.

I would draft him in a heartbeat if he's there in round 2.

I saw we're hosting Funchess on an official visit/workout.

Iowa State dismissed senior DL David Irving worked out for the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, New York Giants, Oakland Raiders and the Seattle Seahawks.
The ex-Iowa State prospect was dismissed from the program and did not play in 2014, as he was charged with fifth-degree theft, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief in connection with a student riot back in April. In 2013, Irving was also arrested on a domestic assault charge against his girlfriend. It will be interesting to see which team, if any, rolls the dice in the draft on Irving. Brandt notes that Irving "had a good workout, went through some bag drills, and is a potential sleeper prospect in the 2015 NFL Draft."

The fact that Jaelen Strong is on that list, should dispel any notions that he wouldn't fit in our offense, like some have claimed. Boom.

He seems nice can he play LB, 6'7 3/4 my goodness

Representatives from seven NFL teams showed up at the workout: the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, New York Giants, Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks.

Irving (6-foot-7 3/4, 273 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.84 seconds on both attempts; he posted a 1.69-second 10-yard split, which is very good. He had a 38-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-8 broad jump. He did the 20-yard short shuttle in 4.53 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.27 seconds.

Irving has an 87 3/4-inch wingspan, and they say he can tie his shoes while standing up. He had a good workout, went through some bag drills, and is a potential sleeper prospect in the 2015 NFL Draft class. What happens with Irving is an interesting scenario in this draft due to the off-the-field issues that kept him from playing at Iowa State last season.

If he didn't play in 2014, hopefully he comes on as a UDFA.
