I can't believe people think Ford was worth the money. He's not a bad player and he was worth keeping. But not for top 5 money, that's outrageous.

Just to be clear, I agree with all of this. From what I've read I would be excited for us to land Golden. Dee Ford's back issue plus his much higher price tag had me terrified we'd get a Berry/Houston situation all over again.

You assume he won't be cheap. We KNOW Ford wasn't going to be cheap.

And keeping for Ford for 1 year at $16M was gambling with money they need for other positions.

If the price is right, Golden could be a ice gambit.

He’s a hard-working/high motor guy who has had a good combo of speed/strength play in the past.

I’m shocked he’s a year younger than Ford, though. That really surprised me.
