If Detroit was, it didn't help. He gave up 1 run and had 10 Ks.

Chris Sale is crazy

The signs were not being stolen, and if they thought they were, it would have been easy for Chris and his catcher to deal with it using multiple signs.

Would Tuesday be the wildcard game vs. Oakland?

Detroit can have that game, we can start our ALDS games on Thursday. But yeah, the wild card games for both leagues are Tuesday, and any tiebreaker games would be played on Monday it appears.

From the "baseball players are so superstitious, its hilarious" department...

Remember that mouse the players saw and were chasing in their clubhouse before the game? Well, apparently Liam Hendricks caught it, put it in a box, and took the mouse into the Royals bullpen before the game.

After they came back and won the game, the Royals players started calling it the "rally mouse".

Well, OK. In that case I hope they get a cage and take that mouse with them on Tuesday. I don't think the mouse has super powers, but if the players think its good luck, then thats probably a good thing for them to have with them.

Third-hand rumor I heard from a friend of a friend...

Apparently, Ventura told Sale to drill Victor Martinez, but then wouldn't back him up. So, Sale, being pissed, told the White Sox he wasn't coming to the ballpark the rest of the year, and spent yesterday at his house playing Xbox.

It's third hand, but it's fun/funny, and if true shows again what a terrible manager Robin Ventura is.

Might want to forward that to Buster Olney. He was on 810 Thursday saying that if Sunday's game meant something in the standings, Sale might go to Ventura and ask to pitch, because he's super-competitive.

We hit 100% on baseball prospectus this morning. (so, some big number that rounds up to 100%.)

Oakland is at 98.8%, Cleveland 0.7%, Seattle 0.5%.
