Albert has been a quality LT in the NFL way longer than he's been a guard in college. That'd be like asking Matt Cassel to move to third string TE at this point.

If he gets paid like a top 5 LT and gets a new contract before the season starts, I don't think he'll care where he plays.

We are like $30 million under the cap in 2013 and we haven't cut Jackson or Cassel. We can easily afford it if we want to. It's not going to be easy to spend $40 million or whatever it will be. The new CBA will require is to spend at least 90% of the cap this year. We could frontload the hell out of Albert's contract.

They are saying that Albert says he wants to station KC and be here for a long time!

Said they are in negotiations, but won't talk about details.

You're right.. Currently, we have $16 million in cap space. After we cut Cassel and Jackson we would free up a lot more putting us in the $30 - $40 million range. If we keep Jackson this year, he gets paid some ridiculas ($14 million?). Cassel would get about $10 million I think. The end product is the same and we will have to spend it.
