Boycott the SuperBowl?

I really want every fanbase to join in with solidarity...and boycott this year's Superbowl. We, as collective fans, deserve better than this...

The Saints game was another level terrible...and the NFL smugly refused to admit it screwed them.

They hand picked these crews to officiate the biggest games...and they completely suck.

Both games...the officials dictated the outcome.

Maybe aws should just call the games

This was ridiculous....gross actually. If people continue to support it, nothing will change.

You have Todd Gurley posting a picture of him exchanging jerseys with the refs...and his team ****ing won! (Photoshopped)

**** this...

Is this how low it's sunk?..and it's now somehow acceptable?

chinaski 01-21-2019 03:51 AM

I won't be watching. I know many others that won't be either.

jimidollar 01-21-2019 04:33 AM

I was going to watch it, but...you know...Dee Ford.

Molitoth 01-21-2019 04:54 AM

The Chiefs game had good officiating imo.

Dee Ford ****ed us.

Naptown Chief 01-21-2019 05:10 AM

I'm not boycotting per say, but I'm certainly not going to watch it. I know several people who aren't as well.

My guess is this will be the lowest rated, in terms of audience, Superbowl in recent history. I mean seriously, who cares about this shit now?

The LA market will boost tje numbers so the NFL won't care.

Won't be watching it tjs year as I have zero ****s to give about either team.

The ratings will be fun to watch. Been a while since we've had a super bowl where nobody outside the two markets could give two shits. Everyone I've seen at least on my Facebook is over rooting against the Pats, and don't like the Rams enough because they're too new and hate them just enough to not want to root for them. Literally no intrigue except for a manufactured storyline about Brady having a chip on his shoulder.

But I refuse to blame this one on the refs. Obviously they butchered the saints game. But I'm pretty sure the NFL woiofve preferred a Brady and brees showdown.

Cntrygal 01-21-2019 08:13 AM

I'm not watching the SB, and I hope the ratings tank!

oldman 01-21-2019 09:20 AM

"Just getting off the phone with the league office. They blew the call," Payton said following the loss. "Man, there were a lot of opportunities though, but that call puts it first-and-10 and we'd only need three plays. It's a game-changing call. That's where it's at, so it's disappointing. For a call like that not to be made, it's just hard to swallow."

To make things worse, the NFL's vice president of officiating, Al Riveron, actually admitted to Payton that there were a total of two missed penalties on the play.

"[The league] said not only was it interference, but it was helmet-to-helmet," Payton said. "There were two calls [the refs missed], they couldn't believe it. We spoke initially, then I called to follow up and the first thing Al said when I got on the phone, 'We messed it up.'"
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/r...going-forward/

That sure helps the Saints now. This crap has to end.

notorious 01-21-2019 09:25 AM

. There is no way you miss that call unless you blatantly want to miss that call.

Dr. Yu Weed Tard 01-21-2019 09:28 AM

Yeah **** the NFL, **** Tom Gaydy, **** the Stupur Bowl. Can't root for either of those teams, anything.

Inspector 01-21-2019 09:33 AM

The NFL wanted a east coast vs a west coast superbowl. The refs work for the NFL.

If not for the phony roughing the passer call, we'd have won. Once we had the lead and it looked like we were going to upset the chosen team, the refs went into action.

No, I nor any of my family will watch the SB.

Randallflagg 01-21-2019 09:37 AM

Yeah - there is nothing about that game that I would waste time on. Literally, nothing.

It was a bad call. But I'm not going to blame a 2nd down roughing call with 7 minutes left as losing the game for us. The refs didn't lose this game for us. We did.

Three7s 01-21-2019 09:42 AM

No one in the midwest will watch, but the NFL doesn't care about the midwest. All they care about is the northeast and California.

Bob Dole 01-21-2019 09:48 AM

I'm not going to call it a boycott. I just have no interest in watching it.

In the day and age when we are constantly told by the NFL that "we have to make sure that we get the calls right" - and there are 140 cameras utilized on each play - you can not help but wonder how the hell the refs could miss that call - when, during the regular season, calls like that are made EASILY and CONSTANTLY (seems like on every play).

The only logical assumption is that they decided to NOT call anything on that play - a play which would have all but ended that game and gave the Saints the win.

What else are we to think?

And the coming year? We'll see the same shit again - and again - and again. After all, its an "entertainment business"..... ;)

The ratings will be interesting to see. I really think this could be one of the worst rated games outside of those 2 markets. Only a personal observation, but every non Chiefs fan I know is totally disinterested in the Super Bowl. They may not care about the midwest, but don't think they want to lose the midwest AND the south. If the midwest is disinterested, the south is fuming right now.

I don't buy the NFL narrative garbage. The refs just blew it against NO. They would have been ecstatic to have a Brees-Brady Super Bowl.

bowener 01-21-2019 10:07 AM

I'm watching so I can listen to Romo. He needs to be our next DC.

tooge 01-21-2019 10:07 AM

I took the day after the SB off so I could have a SB party. I will NOT be watching now. The Saints got absolutely ****ed out of the SB, and the only reason I can think of regarding that is that the NFL really wanted the Lambs in the SB. Now the NFL can apologize to the Saints and say they made a bad call and will look at changing some rules in the off season, but that doesn't change anything for the Saints. So F the Super Blow. I'm out.

Rain Man 01-21-2019 10:13 AM

I enjoy football so I have a policy of not watching games involving the Patriots unless it's a Chiefs game. Been doing it for a few years now.

Punter444 01-21-2019 10:14 AM

Whaaa. All you Queef fans crying. “I’m not gonna watch the Super Bowl.” Boo hoo. You all sound like you fat head coach and crybaby QB - Choketime Mahomes. LMAO. I suppose you blame the refs for Dee Ford lining up offsides on a play that would have needed the game.

Maybe your team will make it to the Super Bowl some time this century. LMAO. Enjoy the offseason suckers.

Mahomes happened because the OL were shitting the bead.

The bad call was because the white hat was threatened by Hoodie that he will have Brady babysit the refs little boys.

I'm going with incompetence over conspiracy but that blown PI call in the Saints game was the worst piece of officiating that caused the most amount of irreversible harm that I have ever seen.
I still feel sick for the Saints, their fans, and their players.
I hope the Rams get blown out.

While I won't go so far to say the outcome was greatly dictated (sans poor Saints; they got ****ed), I will join in not bothering to watch. I could not care less about the Rams or Pats, and don't need to force party vibes via the Super Bowl.

ClevelandBronco 01-21-2019 11:30 AM

Wild ass prediction: You guys will watch it. You absolutely live to bitch about the errors. It's your entire identity on this football board. It's your only reason for being.

Mecca 01-21-2019 12:22 PM

I'm not watching another game the Patriots play in, they have basically ruined the league.

Dayze 01-21-2019 12:31 PM

I'd say there's probably less than 20% change I watch it.
only reason I watched last year was to pull for the Eagles. I missed the Pats / Falcons SB, and Pats / Seahawks.

it's a waste of time, honestly.
the only reason it to watch is to see how bad the refs botch the game and what controversy comes of it.

the years I haven't watched, the wife and I just watched a ton of movies via Red Box we hadn't seen and made a day of it. way more enjoyable than getting bombarded with bad football and a deluge of advertising for 5 hours.

MahiMike 01-21-2019 12:32 PM

I planned on having the day after off at work. Figured I'd be driving back from Atlanta. I'll take this opportunity to go to a concert, go for a long walk, wash my cat. Anything to keep from watching.

Cmon man. That was on 2nd down do you really think the defense holds on 3rd and 7? Also we got multiple defensive PI's called a couple pretty ticky tack. We weren't called for PI once I don't think. One of the most blatant offensive PI's I have ever seen went uncalled on the Watkins pick play for 40 yards. We can't blame the refs the buck stops with AR.

Mennonite 01-21-2019 01:23 PM

Well, the Chiefs organization has been boycotting the Super Bowl for 50 years so the fans might as well too.

Molitoth 01-21-2019 03:28 PM

I won't be watching. I won't be able to stand watching The Patriots win another title.

eDave 01-21-2019 03:29 PM

I'll be at my friends annual superbowl party. I'll get to socialize more now. Will tune into the game for national anthem and to shit on Maroon ****ing 5.

Randallflagg 01-21-2019 03:33 PM

I won't be "not watching" because of being upset or anything like that...Just don't give a shit about either team. Means nothing to me.

More or less like when the Yankees play the Dodgers in the World Series - means nothing to me.

wazu 01-21-2019 03:43 PM

If you're not a Neilsen home I don't think boycotting this game will be noticed.

Calcountry 01-21-2019 03:46 PM

Welcome to the club, I have been doing that every year after the Chiefs are eliminated. Done with the rest of the NFL. The NFL freaking OWES me, and if they don't give a shit about me, then I don't give a shit about them. Purely a business deal for me. It works well with baseball too. Players get bought out by the Yankees, so I "hold out" for a competitive team otherwise I'm out. Amazing how much more quality time I have, lost 50 pounds with no roids. You should try it too. Boycott the STUPID bowl.

Rain Man 01-21-2019 03:51 PM

I mentioned yesterday that last year's Stupor Bowl was the first one I've ever not watched, just because of the Patriots being so boring and overexposed.

But now I'm trying to recall. I don't think I watched the Peyton Manning Farewell Exhibition Stupor Bowl, either.

I think I didn't plan to watch the Broncos cheater bowl against the Seahawks, but my wife turned it on. I know that I didn't see the safety that started the game, but I think at some point I saw part of it.

Bump 01-21-2019 04:00 PM

No, I nor any of my family will watch the SB.

Not to mention, the ruling on the field stands rule, which was interpreted BOTH ways to benefit the pats. First, to overturn the muff, then on the completed pass. The ball touched the ground while he was still struggling to possess it, clearly definitively. Case for overturn= ruling on filed stands.

ball may have grazed player on his finger and his jersey, two possiblities that the ball was indeed touched and therefore inconclusive that he did NOT touch the ball. Ruling on the field overturned.

Case 3 ; roughing the passer on a face wash??? Brady didn't even fall down, didn't even affect the throw. pass incomplete so, hey, first down.

The offsides was offsides, no gripes there but that one put me outside pacing back and forth in the rain here in california. had to do something to get the adrenaline cleared.

Iowanian 01-21-2019 04:01 PM

I'm not boycotting anything, but I don't have anything more than a passing interest in the outcome or watching the game.

I may or may not go to a party to socialize with friends and eat good food but I don't care if the game is on or not.

it also makes my decision easier about a pending youth sporting event that conflicted with the Chiefs super bowl and my son.
