Love that song. I listen to it regularly. One of the greats.

Not sure how I missed the Eli Young Band. It is becoming painfully obvious I don't listen to country radio much. I try I really do. But they probably play Eli Young Band after Taylor Swift.

Or Rascall Flatts.

Or Toby Kieth. Or that gay ass song something about a truck, or rain makes corn or whatever godfor****ingsaken pile of ****ing popped out horseshit they're playing this week.

Sorry. I'll take my meds.

There's plenty of gay on the radio these days... I have no quams about admitting it.

I reserve the right to be cranky about it.

Sorry to go all Clint Eastwood. (too soon?)

Does John Prine count as country? This song gives me a happy enchilada.

If that isn't country enough for this thread, here is Miranda Lambert's cover.

Go for it man. I live this shit every goddamn day. I post things I like here because it reminds me there is plenty of good within the evil.

Prine isn't "technically" country but so what. I'm a fan and there's a ton of country flavor that is really great. Post away.

Guitars... cadillacs... hillbilly music...

I'm a huge Rodney Crowell fan. I think he is criminally overlooked by the country crowd.

Some favorites:

I posted some of his songs earlier in the thread... don't think I posted any of those though. Love his stuff. Awesome post.

If that isn't country enough for this thread, here is Miranda Lambert's cover.

I kind of find myself wishing someone had talked Miranda out of recording that one. Messing around and doing unexpected covers is fun in concert (and she does a lot of that), but...

*rummages in files*

Here's one that I don't think was released to radio. I think it's a good song.

Rodney Crowell was definitely a badass.

I miss real songwritting in country so much. There are a few that still do it but for the most part the charts are full of lowest common denomiator crap. I started this thread to highlight that stuff and I really appreciate everyone's contributions whether I like them personally or not.
