Hell no should he get $16M guaranteed next year. That’s ascenine.

The guaranteed money factors in signing bonus (much of which has already been paid off in salary cap) and his 2015 and 2016 salaries which are already paid off. He's no longer guaranteed anything. The Chiefs can cut him and not owe him anything. All they'd take is the dead money from cutting him early which isn't a ton at this point.

I've come around to thinking...that Houston doesn't really have a position here unless it's RDE and honestly, it looks like we'll probably tag Ford and play him there. Leaving Houston odd and very expensive man out.

You don't pay $21 million for a SAM who will be in coverage most of the time other than the odd blitz.

He's not a LDE. He's not big enough to play there.

One or the other was always destined to go I suppose.

Given the amount of money involved, it's almost a must.

The thought of Ford at DE doesn't make you vomit? With that back of his?

I don't know man......

LOL.

Houston would easily get $16 million + on a 2-3 year deal. Smarten up.

It’s his cap number the Chiefs cannot manage right now at $21 million.

This isnt about Houston not having value or being a good teammate. No one is disputing that. It's just business. We need to, as fans get use to this. When Mahomes gets out of his rookie deal, going to be a lot of painful choices to let go.

It won't set in for people until he's actually hurt and eating up cap while sitting on the sideline in sweats.

Wouldn't you consider Houston the more likely of the two to make the adaptation? I absolutely trust Houston rushing from the dirt, helping to stop the run, and staying healthy doing so FAR more than I trust Ford.

If that's what they plan to do with Ford, then I have a very bad feeling about it.

That part of it I love, and have been waiting eons to see finally take place. It's the choice of who leaves the building that needs to be on-point.

Given the choice, I would rather have Houston. The ideal scenario is that they keep Houston and trade Ford.

I just don't see it happening.

I hope they're both gone - need a good, clean slate.

I'd screen and rush and screen/rush his side of the line ALL DAY.

Sounds good to me.

Clean slate and fewest sacks in the league, can't wait.
