Shady McCoy signs with Bucs

Running back LeSean McCoy agreed to a one-year deal with the team on Thursday, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, confirmed to ESPN.

McCoy, 32, started nine games for the Kansas City Chiefs last year and ran for 465 yards and four touchdowns on 101 carries. But after Damien Williams seized the lead role toward the end of the season and into the playoffs, McCoy was a healthy scratch for the Chiefs' Super Bowl LIV victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

In Tampa, the six-time Pro Bowl selection joins quarterback Tom Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski as the latest veteran to come on board coach Bruce Arians' team.

if he can stay healthy, he's going to have a good year.

DaFace 07-30-2020 06:56 PM

The Bucs are becoming an old man's club.

Seriously? If he couldn’t have a good year in our offense last year, what’s going to change now that he’s a year older in an offense not as good?

After Willims opt out, I thought maybe Andy would want him back.

That team is gonna kick ass if they’re somehow able to play in 2014.

He got us through some injuries in the middle of the year.

With him being a healthy scratch through the playoffs I was fairly confident we wouldn’t have to see a repeat of that crap.

He averaged 5.4 yds/carry behind an OL that no other RB on the team could manage more than 2.5 yds/carry. And let's not forget that he tweaked his ankle in the week 3 game (IIRC) and yet still was our most productive RB until someone decided he needed to be rested.

But let's skip that part for a second.

He's going to be part of a passing attack that could be one of the better ones in the NFC. And he's a very good route runner and receiver.

Hell, look at his stats from 2019. Extrapolate for a full season, even splitting snaps with every other back on the roster, he would've finished the season with nearly 900 yds rushing.

It was a numbers game and the fact he didn't play ST's was the biggest reason.

Yeah....minus the costly fumbles.

Thankfully his old ass doesn’t play special teams, then.
