La Canfora-Peters trade was mandated by Clark Hunt

<a href="https://imgflip.com/gif/25cye7"><img src="https://i.imgflip.com/25cye7.gif" title="made at imgflip.com"/></a>

Keep in mind that La Canfora had the Peters news days before anyone else did.

I believe him

Easy 6 02-26-2018 07:22 PM

NFL - Peters trade was flatly nixed by everyone but Stan Kroenke

Red Dawg 02-26-2018 07:23 PM

Thats not a surprise. Peters embarrased him in his mind.

If only that sack of shit DC we've got would have kneeled for the anthem.

Buehler445 02-26-2018 07:30 PM

I have a hard time believing that Reid was vehemently opposed. If Reid had no problems with Peters, that's the kind of stuff you resign over.

Moreover, if there were no problems anywhere other than the tossing the flag business there would have been more interest.

This doesn't smell like a meddling owner.

What he is not entitled to is old white guys not being offended.

So Clark Hunt is an idiot that wanted Peters gone for kneeling yet nobody wanted Peters outside of LA.

Yea, that makes sense

But....wait a sec here, didn’t Peters want out of KC? I’m a little confused

Deberg_1990 02-26-2018 07:36 PM

Good grief. **** you Clark Hunt!

Is this more of Hunt having a personal issue with Peters or his ‘perception’ that the fan base hates Peters?

Because ultimately what most fans want is great players making great plays.

I personally don’t agree with Peters sitting, but I truly don’t give much of a shit about it either. I just want playmakers making plays on my team

**** you very much Clark Hunt!

There are a billion rumors out there, people pick and choose what they want to fit a narrative. Both sides, it happens.

Kinda like, "Only the Rams were interested..."

The Franchise 02-26-2018 07:36 PM

Wait....so is Hunt an owner that does nothing and doesn’t care about this team? Or does he have his hands on this team and makes decisions? I’m confused.

You can go ahead and believe that’s just a rumor if you want to.

There’s no conflicting reports there, so awful comparison for that alone.

Messier 02-26-2018 07:38 PM

I wonder who told him that? Hunt needs to be grilled about that then. Everyone seems ready to believe it, but seems out of character.

GloucesterChief 02-26-2018 07:39 PM

This is why the Chiefs haven't won shit in almost two generations.

I actually think he hides all season besides showing up for games and then shows up 1 time every offseason and gets involved to make a big splash decision he decided from the Hunt compound in Texas and forces Reid and Co to do it. (Dorsey, Peters, etc)

Kind of like his "year in review" and then flies away.

Messier 02-26-2018 07:40 PM

By the way that doesn't say "Hunt demand a trade." It says no new contract and no fifth year option.

Which means that you trade him or lose him. So it means that Veach has to trade him or lose him for nothing. It's a demand in the plainest sense.

RunKC 02-26-2018 07:45 PM

Clark needs to schedule a PC or send out a release bc right now this is not looking good for him.

Yup, This trade is not on Veach at all.

It's on Peters. It's on the fans who hate Peters. It's on Clark Hunt for wanting to please those fans.

I still say this is questionable. It says "not sure about fifth year." I just say before we hang Hunt in effigy, we need more info (that probably isn't coming.) I just don't think it's as simple as Hunt being mad that Peters sat for the anthem.

Or the ‘big money’ fans? Hmmm

By reading any news outlet facebook post comments section, and reading Chiefsplanet, I'd guess 50% of the fanbase wanted Peters gone, no matter what.

After the initial Anthem kneeling a good majority wanted him gone.... after the on the field antics, that group grew even larger.

He lost enough of the fanbase and Clark Hunt acted.

Post 2000, I'd rank him right next to Larry Johnson for sure.
Tamarick Vanover before? Some others..

A player like "The kicker who shall remain nameless" is a hatred on a different level.

Clark Hunt wouldnt have cared about the Anthem and neither would the fans for the most part if Peters didn't act like a spoiled ****wad.

Yea the kneeling was annoying to people but the on field shit was the real issue plain and simple.

When he threw the flag in the stands in NY and walked off the field to the locker room quiting on his team, was that because of the Chiefs fans?

Total bullshit.

True, Grbac never walked off the field to the locker room quiting in the middle of the game and frankly that's surprising considering how much of a pussy he was.

Dartgod 02-26-2018 07:59 PM

It isn't about the kneeling you morons.

Justin Houston knelt
Travis Kelce knelt
Chris Conley knelt
Kareem Hunt sat on a bench
Ukeme Eligwe sat on a bench

None of them are being traded away. I wonder why?

Messier 02-26-2018 08:00 PM

I figuered we probably had Peters for one maybe two more years. And I think he would've gotten worse and worse here, behavior wise. This is probably for the best.

So? It was dying down. I went to 4 games last season and it wasn't even a topic. You know how many Chiefs fans have hated players over the years?

When he was kneeling and playing like ass and acting like an idiot then it became a real issue.

And if its just about KC fans why wasn't the market for him stronger?

Anyway I'll ask again since Hamas isn't going to answer.

Would Clark Hunt have a problem with the Chiefs signing Colin Kaepernick?

“You know I really wouldn’t,” Hunt said. “Obviously, we have an interesting dynamic in regards to Colin in that we have Alex Smith as our starter. Because of that, I wouldn’t anticipate that Andy (Reid) would come to me with that.
