Weis glanced at his new project as he cruised by, and though Cassel didn’t look toward his coach, he surely felt his presence.

Cassel became a household NFL name in 2008 when he took the helm in New England after Tom Brady's season-ending knee injury. He played in an offense Weis designed, and that's why he wasn't offended by the idea that he needed fixing.
