Now would be a good time to put a bit more pressure to get that stadium done.

I have taken the whole family up to see a Royals game for the last 5 years until the 2023 season. I had just had enough of bad on bad baseball. In 2023 I opted to take my grandkids to their first Chiefs game. 2023 was the first year I hadnt made the trip to The K for any game in a very long time. The Royals may have just won me back with this. I think the grandkids are hooked on the Chiefs now, but there is room for both in my life.

Kansas City teams just need to draft more Texas guys it looks like. Really not much difference living wise from Texas and Kansas City area. Plus a short flight between the two.

I'm going to grab some Miller Lites, head down to the old Star glass building downtown, and get drunk while watching some Bobby Witt highlights. Let's roll!

Highest payroll in the AL Central now.

So this is essentially a 3 year extension (with 6 option years on the end).

It would be nice to have a competitive team again.

Doubtful.

BWJ's salary is only $2.7 mil. this year.

With the other FA additions, that should put the Royals payroll at somewhere around $115 to $120 million this year.

They're at least trying this year.

And Sherman is showing (finally) he is willing to put his money where his mouth is with the BWJ contract.

Of course, this could just be all about the stadium and nothing else, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for the next few years.

Once the stadium is done and the Royals move in (2027?) we'll see if he continues to put his best foot (i.e. wallet) forward.

Can they go sign Matt Chapman now?
