Another last Superman Returns trailer!

Compression quality's not real good, but it's maybe even better than the last last one. Although they give an awful lot of the plot away.

Damn I wish this was out now instead of X3. I'm not good at waiting.

Can't wait.

Spacey might outdo Hackman in the Lex Luthor department

keg in kc 05-27-2006 02:52 AM

Man, that trailer's just crazy.

The jury is still out on Routhe though, and I'll reiterate this over and over the guy isn't in the Superman mold.

Not sure why you'd think that. He's 6'3 and as muscular as anyone who's played Superman on film or TV.

I believe he's 6'1 and he doesn't look like 225 pounds like Reeve

In those pics, he looks heavier than Reeve.

You believe wrong. His website lists him as 6'2.5, and I've read a number of set reports where people met him and said that he seems taller than that in person. I don't know his weight, but Reeve never looked particularly big as Superman anyway (quite the opposite, IMO), so I'm not sure why that comparison matters.

I've seen, I think, 4 trailers and 5 TV commercials now, and I haven't seen a scene in any of them where I don't think he fits the role. And I was skeptical when he was announced. I don't see the problem now.

Although the "oh noes, he's gayyy, I can't let my kids see that" contingent is still going strong, apparently.

(I don't know if he is or not. Or care.)

they also have an upward angle lens shot to make him look bigger infact the whole reason that they made the "S" smaller and placed higher on his chest is for that very reason to make him look "bigger"

Spacey is an awesome choice, I will see it because of him.

JMO, but if they thought they needed to make him look bigger, they would've just padded the costume, a la the Micheal Keaton Batman suit.

I would assume the wardrobe change is just Singer or his wardrobe people trying to give the film it's own look, just like he did for the X-Men franchise.

Routh isn't gay. I saw an interview with him and his girlfriend not too long ago. How did that get started?

keg in kc 05-27-2006 02:13 PM

Because of Bryan Singer, I would assume. Who is very openly gay.
