Kevin Ross says Chiefs players are cut off from the community

Sad.

He also slammed players for taking picutres and such with Peyton. He was like "you're 1-10?? That would have never happened in my era"

Hammock Parties 11-26-2012 09:31 PM

Ross later said he wanted players to be nasty as **** on defense and hate the other team like they were communists...and throw deep on offense...I was like HIRE THIS MAN.

It was in the parking lot, well after the game.

So what?

Hammock Parties 11-26-2012 09:38 PM

I'll be honest, hearing what Ross was saying...maybe I'm a complete reerun but the guy should be our next head coach.

The Bad Guy 11-26-2012 09:40 PM

That's a great point about the player banners. Those were a staple of Arrowhead. That miserable **** Pioli strikes again.

The guy said he had basically been begging to coach here since he got into coaching 7 years ago.

I'm drinking the Kevin Ross Koolaid.

chiefzilla1501 11-26-2012 09:46 PM

I've mentioned this several times, but I think Save our Chiefs is missing a huge opportunity to capitalize on opportunities like this.

This is a message that pisses off both True Fans and any Chiefs fan in general. Again, True Fans are so caught up in their blind support for the franchise that they don't realize this is going on. I can guarantee lots of stories like this will turn even the biggest homer into a Pioli hater.

As I've said before... we all knew who Brian Waters was and we were huge fans. How sad is that when a ****ing Guard is more popular back then than our star running back is today? It's because Pioli doesn't think fans are entitled to knowing our players, and it's the biggest reason why Arrowhead crowds are dead today and will never get back to loud Arrowhead until Pioli is out. Even if we start winning again.

Al Bundy 11-26-2012 09:46 PM

Pioli is a butthole.

I know. Love it! But it's something to build upon.

When we talk nostalgia, it's not just about restoring the red. It's asking why we don't have the "Jared Allen Show" anymore. The fan banners. The great pieces in the Kansas City Star about Chiefs volunteering during the holidays. Hell, even Hard Knocks. There are dumbasses who still think Pioli is building an okay enough team and it seems like SOC is getting mixed reaction to that. But this shit is something I think every single fan will rally around.

I loved Kevin Ross as a player. He's dead on with this. We all remember all the banners in the 90's. the team and the fans loved each other. Pioli has shit all over this franchise in every way possible. It's inexcusable to retain this POS.

I totally agree. If somehow, some way, SaveOurChiefs could partner with guys like Ross or Mr. Mighty Mouse or Shields or somebody who isn't scared stiff to call a spade a spade, it would solidify the fan base like nothing else ever could.

One Kevin Ross dressed in black on TV telling it like it is ... well, that would be worth 5023 banners.

I've thought about this a lot. I grew up in Kansas City until about the age of 16. When I was in town, Tim Grunhard and many other Chiefs entertained fans at bars around the Metro. Now it's tough to get a Scott Boras generic response out of any of these guys. The culture shift is amazing. That whole interview with Ross was amazing. You could really tell that they were just letting him rant. If you missed it, it was radio gold.

You never know about these things though. If the Chiefs had hired a head coach who was the OC of the 32nd ranked offense in the entire league, who was a Paul Hackett disciple, this board would've melted down. But Mike McCarthy has done pretty well for himself in Green Bay.

**** that. I want a guy with some head coach experience who, at some level, had some success with an aggressive offense and an aggressive defense. Someone who isn't a pussy boy and may not have all the answers but won't sit there after 5 losses and go I don't know what's going on or how to fix it.

I'm sick of good offenses and bad defenses, good defenses and bad offenses, bad offenses and bad defenses or, if I think back far enough, good offenses and good defenses but with a coach who was so scared of his shadow he didn't trust it.
