Incidentally, this is the first blizzard warning KC has had in nearly eight years. Interesting.

Took the kids out and the only food place open was Chinese. It felt like The Christmas Story.

Took the Jeep out and met some friends at B-Dubs very few people out, finally headed home around 4 when I got the news I-29 was closed.Semi's were lined up along 71 on my way home by the exit to get on I-29.

We ended up with nine inches.

Not sure of the actual snowfall amount here in Liberty. 5-6 I’d guess. But it’s drifyed to about 2 feet

Jeep was in the car port all day and it's covered in snow.

Jesus.

Roads were awful... barely made it to the corner QT, where I spent a fortune since I didn't think my car would safely make it 10mi down the road to nearest Price Chopper.

It looks like about 6 inches here 15 miles NW of the Speedway.

Took awhile to dig out the Subie this AM. Lots of semis stuck on ice covered hills. Truman Rd from the Stone Arch Bridge down to I-435 in the valley was a solid sheet of ice. I literally sledded all the way down with my brakes locked up. Scary, glad I didn't hit anybody. Took about a little over an hour from Independence to OPKS. Hopefully it'll be a better run on the way home tonight.

left at 0630 and got to work downtown at 0815.

once the snow basically stopped last night, I shoveled my driveway and dug my cars out, brushed them off etc so this morning wouldn't be a cluster F. Thank god I did. Basically all I had to do was warm up my car for about 20 minutes and I was on the road. then proceeded to drive to 35 miles to work at about 30mph, if that .

I left around 9am figuring streets would be a little better and not as crowded. Nope not only did I get stuck it took me 2 hrs to get to olathe taking side streets.

Should have kept that Grand Cherokee. You wouldn't have even had to dig it out, just lock it in 4low and go.
