Good win.
I didn't get a chance to watch the game. Are you guys as good as you look on the boxscore? Did KSU play a poor game? All of the above? |

The biggest stat of the game is KU got off their ass and got some rebounds. Normally when KU plays KState KU gives up a bunch of infinitely frustrating offensive rebounds. KU played a Pretty ugly game but managed to get on the glass and get the hustle plays that usually go to KState. So really it is a little of both. It will be interesting to see how KState fairs against MU and Baylor in Bramledge. |

Don't have the quality depth that we're used to, though. Still, KU is a very good team this year. Don't let the 3 losses fool you. 2 of those were to top 5 teams. Davidson is a good program but that was one KU should not have lost. |

KSU just kept forcing their way inside and took awkard shots with Robinson and Withey in their faces early. To put it mildly, it didn't work.
When both of KU's big men were on the court together, KSU couldn't do anything. Their bigs weren't good enough to do work in the post, and their guards weren't quick enough to open things up with penetration. Robinson is dominant when he wants to be, but he tends to disappear for long stretches. He got lazy on offense and then into a bit of foul trouble, and KSU made a big run. They got to within three before Teahen hit a couple of threes. Then the guy guarding Robinson picked up a foul and had to come out. Robinson got back into his groove, and it was all over. |

He is the most careless player with the ball in years for KU... I cant think of a Sr that was more disconnected during the game than this guy... |

But the other side is that he gets in the lane whenever he wants. It doesn't matter who is guarding him. He can get by anyone. And his speed is other worldly. KUs problem is that he is the ONLY guy getting into the lane. Johnson wants to be a shooter, but did take his man off the bounce a couple times last game. Releford will beat his man periodically, but usually there is a pretty good opening or the guy overplays a pass or something. Releford isn't beating many guys off a cross over or a first step. Tharp tries to get to the bucket, but the game is still so much faster than he is, he isn't very reliable. Pay attention next game. TT is the only guy going to the bucket. Sometimes he turns it over. Sometimes he chucks up a bad shot, but a lot of times, that's an OREB for us. A lot of times he makes a nice pass or a rediculous shot. As a fan of fundamentals, it kills me to watch TT turn it over, but at this point, KU is uber boned without him. |
I can say for how impressive T-Rob is on TV he is double that in person. Reminds me of Blake Griffon.

Kansas women beat #23 Texas in Austin last night.
Keep it up ladies! Lets win both |
Losing those 2 guys to academic problems are really hurting this depth.
McLemore would have been an upgrade over what Releford does. Self is coaching pretty solid this year. |
Under Bill Self, KU is 129-7 in Allen Fieldhouse, a winning percentage of 94.9%. http://billself.com
