I call him shadow mccoy... cos hes a shadow of shady.

I think people under estimate how easy it should be to run in this offense. McCoy and William's faced 5 and 6 man fronts all season while the deep safety played 10-15 yards deeper than usual out of tyreek fear.

CEH gonna win rookie of the year.

What are you talking about? Do you not remember how the first third of the season went?

Maybe this will refresh your memory:
https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/show...amien+williams

The situation through the first 6 or 7 games was this: Damien was averaging less than 3 yards/carry, meanwhile Shady was averaging more than 5 yds.carry. These gamelogs make it fairly obvious:

Damien:
https://www.pro-football-reference.c.../gamelog/2019/

McCoy:
https://www.pro-football-reference.c.../gamelog/2019/

Any of this ringing a bell?

Also, lest we forget, Shady tweaked his ankle in week 3, and yet still averaged 5+ yds/carry until week 9 (MINN) and he only carried the ball 3 times in that game, so we really can't say what his production could've been. Over the same period, behind the same exact line, Damien carried 48 times for, wait for it, 100 yds. That's a whopping 2.1 yds/carry. Over 6 WEEKS.

Shady averaged 5.2 yds/carry. And had already gained 362+ yards.

Remember now?

You didn't specify first third.

I'm pumped to see what CEH brings to the game. This offense has potential be one of the best of all time.

It's only 6 games because both players missed time during the first 9 weeks of the season. Technically, we're talking about the first 8 games.

Even if we include the final 8 games, basically it took Damien carrying the ball more than twice as many times (65 vs. 31) and three 80+ yard rushes for him to reach Shady's season average. And he still didn't actually eclipse Shady's average; he still finished behind Shady's average yds/rush by a tenth.

By almost any metric, Shady was the far more productive RB.

I get that many of you dislike Shady for whatever irrational reasons, but let's at least be honest: Lesean McCoy was by far our most productive RB for the first half of the season. And that's including the two fumbles he lost. In fact, if McCoy had held onto just the one he fumbled in the Colts game, that probably would've put him over 400 yards for 69 (IIRC) carries.

Meaning that if he'd just finished the season running his averages (carries/gm and yds/carry), he would've finished with over 800-850 yards on about 130-140 carries. Or about 65% of the carries of what a typical NFL RB1 would have by season's end. That's basically elite level production (by average obviously, not totals).

Behind what was one of the worst rushing OLs in the NFL for most of the season.

I know I know . . . "but the two fumbles!"

Didn't make a stitch of difference. In terms of efficiency, Shady was still the more productive back, period. The only reason Damien's numbers look comparable to Shady's is the fact that they basically stopped giving Shady snaps.

Curious as to what, exactly, happened for Reid to basically write him off halfway through the season.

I mean, we came out of it just fine, but...still...

He did something that Reid saw as unforgivable. He was in the permanent doghouse late in the season.

Shady still has a little juice. He just couldn't hold onto the football and got in Bienemy's doghouse and suddenly he needed to be rested. I am pretty sure it was Bienemy, not Reid, who benched his ass. Former running back ain't gonna put up with fumbling the football, especially when you swing it around like he does. Now he can play fast and loose in Tampa where all the geezers go to retire.

Old White Guys in jean shorts Protecting the thin blue line and talking about not holding th ball like a loaf of bread.

How many wins does he cost the Bucs with his fumbles?

Maybe in our game on Sunday he could sign with the Chiefs in the first half, get one carry and lay the ball on the ground. Then the Chiefs release him at halftime; he signs with Philly for the second half and does the same. Memories...
