Ford not taking orders for Bronco

My BIL went to the Ford dealer earlier this week with the intent to order a new Ford Bronco. He was told Ford has such a large backlog they are no longer taking orders for Broncos. I thought no way... Well, it appears online reservation were stopped the end of August.

Now you can't even order one from a dealer? Anyone else experienced or heard this?

take a look around at dealer lots.........no inventory.

Another byproduct of supply chain issues.

Just get an IROC

Did Ford smother them in Vaseline? Is that why Broncos are so hard to get ahold of?

damn i didn't think they were that popular, but I guess it could be another issue with supply and demand that we keep running into. I saw one on the highway the other day and it's a little too boxy for me

Over 100,000 orders already on the books. Even some folks here at the plant that got to order first aren't getting theirs until 2023.

Right, that's obvious. But a dealership not taking orders for a new vehicle? That's next level. No matter how large the backlog why would a manufacture quit taking order from their dealers? I can see limiting options that can be ordered, turning off online orders and telling the customer delivery is 1 year or more out, but to have dealers stop feeding the pipeline. I have a hard time understanding that choice. What's a dealer suppose to do?

Hey we can't order you that new vehicle, but check out this overpriced beautiful used...

Maybe Al Cowlings can make you a deal on a used one?

This is going to sound really stupid to some folks, but Ford shifted their focus and limited resources from the Bronco/Maverick launches to the F150 when they learned that a competitor was trying to take the title of bestselling truck. We've gone from literal months on layoff to running max OT.

This is what I do for a living. I've have 2019 F150 on the lot right now with 37,000 miles. $59,788. Prices are crazy right now. Never been a time like this ever.

I told my wife that we're not buying a new car for another five years.

It's crazy.
