Herm Deserves One More Chance!!!!

Herm deserves one more chance according to a foxsports poll:
Dear God people get over there and change the vote results, we don't want Clark seeing this!

Squirmin' Herman
The 2007 installment of HBO's Hard Knocks ended with Chiefs GM Carl Peterson symbolically giving Herman Edwards the keys to the franchise.

Since then Edwards has put the franchise through a demolition derby. After 19 losses in 20 games, the team looks like the rental car Johnny Knoxville returned in the first Jackass movie.

This year the Chiefs have lost close ones — by single scores to the playoff-contending Patriots, Jets and Bucs and a single point at San Diego — and blowouts (20-plus points four times). In their last four games at once-impregnable Arrowhead, the Chiefs have given up 148 points (37 ppg).

As dire as the situation would seem for Edwards, amazingly, he may still be able to save his job. The Chiefs' last five opponents have a combined 20-34-1 record. With the exciting Tyler Thigpen actually moving the ball, if KC can grab a couple of wins down the stretch an argument could be made that the Chiefs are moving in the right direction. Barring that, there's an arrow headed Herm's way.

No...

You do not want Herm... for another year.
If you know what we (the JETS) went through with him, you will be GLAD when he is gone.

He is a nice and likable guy, a decent man with integrity. I like him as a person, friend, but not as my head coach.

You deserve better. There will be some potentially excellent HC candidates after the season, and I hope you get one of them and resurrect your franchise.

Herm deserves another chance. I just hope he gets it far far away from Arrowhead.

I voted for Norv Turner. Looks like he is second place to Herm right now. The problem is none of these losers deserve another chance.

Carl only gave Gun 2 years
if it was up to him I'd say Herm was out
especially if he could hire a "name"

Herm does deserve another chance...as the Head Coach of the 2009 Oakland Raiders.

Funny thing is, I'm pretty sure Al Davis is stupid enough to give him that chance.

In a way,

it'd be nice if the Chiefs lose out. just go 1-15 the rest of the way. ****n eh. Maybe a shift in the mind of Clark Hunt will happen and he can can his a**.

There is a good chance this team could go 1-15? This is the worst defense I've ever seen and it wouldn't surprise me if teams put up 30 on us every week. Not like this offense is gonna score 30 anyways?

I was optimistic before thinking this team could win 5 or 6 games but not anymore. Not with this defense. And it's just the fact, I've come to known this is a losing team and losing teams just find a way to lose. Chiefs do that regularly so...yeah I feel like they will go 1-15. 2-14 the most?

But I look at the schedule and I see potential losses:

@Oakland L McFadden will prolly run all over us again
@Denver L Chiefs never win in Denver we all know that
San Diego L This has the potential of a Chiefs loss
Miami L same like SD
@Cincinatti W or L this is the only game the Chiefs could possibly win? But since theyre playing on the road, and we all know what kind of road team they are, this could be a loss as well

*And if they go 1-15, and Clark keeps Herm, well, that says a lot about Clark and this franchise. And I may just have to kill myself.

Clark will keep Carl and Herm after this season, count on it. Clark is proving to be as bad at this job as his dad was. Oblivious to failure, and unable to see the obvious flaws in the people he employs. He just takes the guided tour that Carl gives him every so often.

Realistically here is what will happen:

Carl and Herm will be back in 2009. After that Carl's contract will be up, and Clark will basically let him pick his successor, Bill Kuharich. Of course, his successor will only be taking "part" of Carl's old job, while other parts will be given to other Carl cronies who are promoted after years of failure. This helps to reduce any real accounability being held by one person. Herm will most likely be the fall guy and get fired after this "so-called" shake-up.

They'll bring in some new coach who Carl likes, but we'll have the same jokers essentially stocking the roster with the same caliber of players we've seen for years. Carl may even remain somewhere in the mix with a reduced role.

I see Carl losing his GM title before Herm gets shit-canned.

This...couldn't say it better myself.

You guys that think Herm will be fired this year are nuts.

Herm will be the coach for 2009.

Bank on it.

I agree. I wonder if they'll keep Gun or Carl though.
