Louis Riddick is solid at least.

ESPN is reverting to a three-man booth for its "Monday Night Football" broadcasts this fall.

According to multiple reports, Steve Levy will take over as the play-by-play announcer, becoming the fourth person to hold that title since 2015. The color commentators will be former NFL players Louis Riddick and Brian Griese.

Dayze 07-31-2020 11:46 AM

wtf.

Riddick is head and shoulders above Griese.
just have Levy and Riddick.

Griese?.....wut?

displacedinMN 07-31-2020 11:48 AM

but which one will make stupid yet obvious comments?

ChiefBlueCFC 07-31-2020 11:50 AM

Well pretty much anything was an improvement compared to the way it was the last 2 seasons

cabletech94 07-31-2020 11:52 AM

you'd think for the billions upon billions that the ESPN pays for the monday night rights, they could get an All-Star Announcing team.

but there i'll be, watching still.

I seem to recall watching a Bama game last year or so where it was a brocast where they didn't have any / zero announcers. Just audio of the fans, and some players via the parabolic mic thingy. it was glorious.

I'd pay a subscription to watch a game on simul-cast where there was no announcers at atll. given my curent home theater doesn't allow me to adjust the center audio to eliminate the commentators.

Steve Leavy and Brian Griese. ESPN just moved up its SEC broadcast team to MNF.

I didn’t tune into some of the shit matchups.

It was that bad.

Here’s the thing, who would that be? Who’s in their lineup you’d be excited about? Apparently Manning told them to get bent. LOL

They can't broadcast a Super Bowl. That is why the top talent turns them down.

yeah, i kind of stretched the truth there a bit. realistically i cant watch all the games, but i will tune and watch a bit.

the booger on the lift thing was really really odd IMHO.

I honestly would’ve liked that punter (name eludes me) Mcafee? do color lol

comochiefsfan 07-31-2020 12:31 PM

Why not Dan Shulman? His voice would be great for football.

MMXcalibur 07-31-2020 01:22 PM

Steve Levy was always a good listen when he was doing NHL on ESPN.
Louis Riddick is solid, and Griese isn't horrendous. If nothing else, it's an upgrade from last year's crew.
