It's a fine pick. Talented player, plays a position of impact, and a need.

I'm fine with at #23.

Absolutely. Guys that can get to the QB are worth their weight in gold.

It is damn hard to find good pass rushers, harder than CB's, WR's etc. If his medical is good then I got no problem with the pick.

It's a rebuilding team that is shedding contracts.

A rebuilding team with 8 Pro Bowl players and a 30 year old starting QB.

That would be seen as an opportunity to try to win now by most franchises.

Sorry ya'll, but the Chiefs made a smart decision.

This draft is flush with receivers and you don't need to spend a first ****ing round pick on a mother****ing Guard. Was I begging for a QB? Sure, but I also knew there was 0 chance they were gonna do it.

The pick was fine considering the circumstances.

WEAKNESSES Undersized -- thin-framed, lacks bulk and anchor strength to dig in vs. the run. Cannot convert speed to power and gets stalled if he cannot work half of a blocker. Struggles to discard blockers when locked up and gets inverted. Not comfortable moving in reverse. Has consistently been dinged with injuries and has never made it through a full season healthy. Recorded a very pedestrian 4.73-second 20-yard shuttle time at his pro day, indicative of marginal change of direction.

Mr_Tomahawk 05-08-2014 09:14 PM

@adamteicher: reid: Chiefs had 3 or 4 players rated close to Ford. #KCpick

KCFaninSEA 05-08-2014 09:14 PM

My concern is that I saw OT Jake Matthews from Texas A&M own Dee Ford. If he can do most OT's in the league will be able to do it also. We will see.

So when do the Chiefs expect to be competitive again?

When Alex Smith is 50?

Chiefs with 8 Pro Bowl players last year are choosing to go into rebuild mode, rather than all in to try to compete for a Super Bowl.

That summarizes this offseason and the current state of this pathetic franchise.

Alex Smith is here to keep them better than 2-14, that's all. Clark couldn't endure another 2-14 so they had to try to be competitive. Problem is Dorsey and Reid want to and are gutting this team while trying to be competitive for Clark's sake.

Kiimo 05-08-2014 09:14 PM

Keep deluding yourselves that this isn't a giant abortion of a pick.

BossChief 05-08-2014 09:14 PM

I'd rather have a really good pass rusher than a corner with very stiff hips (Dennard)

Watch his combine workouts and listen to Deion just clown him.

Ford at 23 is a good pick.

It just sucks that we didnt get Manziel.

Keep repeating that until the Chiefs realize they have a dumpster fire of fail at WR.

They ignored the position in free agency, and now in the first round of the draft.

35 ppg 2nd half of the year

35 ppg ALL OWED and like no sacks. Which is the biggest need again?

Right, and we need a ****ing WR as well. Lee is less of a reach at 23 than Ford.

Dayze 05-08-2014 09:15 PM

it's cool/ we'll have our 250 DE on the line in our 3-4.
