Brutally tough two-way heat here. My votes:

#1 - American Beauty. It was really, really tough to not vote for my #2, but this scene is just brilliant. It's intense but serene, it's uplifting, and the music is very underrated and fits perfectly. Beautiful scene.

#2 - Groundhog Day. Another fantastic scene. It has pretty much all the same attributes as the #1 scene, plus the advantage of (sigh) Andie McDowell. It just doesn't have the music. I would be happy with either of these scenes advancing.

#3 - The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. I see the bad, and a fair amount of ugly, but not much good. This scene is astoundingly boring.

Groundhog Day gets my vote.

Come on Rainman. A three man showdown is boring? Try being one of those 3 men. I bet you wouldn't be bored then. Clint Eastwood gets my vote here.

Actually, after four minutes of staring at each other I probably would be shouting across the ring, "Hey! C'mon, guys, let's get it over with!"

I watched Groundhog Day for maybe the 4th time in years the other day and truly recognize it as a Classic, classic early Murray.

But I'm a sucker for American Beauty, such a great great movie, the simplest things in life can mean so much...

GBU and Groundhog was a very tough vote.

We've got the Groundhog, the Beautiful, and the Ugly. How is ugly competing at all? This is insane.
