NFT - Lego Sets

I figure that there are a lot of parents on CP buying sets for their kids and adults who still enjoy putting together more complicated Lego sets so I thought I would share. While browsing through Reddit I came across a company called Lepin/Nouago who makes knockoff lego sets. Most everyone on that subreddit had great things to say about them so I placed an order for "The Old Fishing Store".

Lego sold (it is now a retired set) it for $150 and it sells for twice that on eBay now. I paid $70 including shipping and the set arrived in less than 2 weeks. The quality of this set is amazing. Everything locks in tight and the attention to detail is phenomenal.

Lepin also sells sets like the Millenium Falcon UC for $236 when the original set was sold by Lego for $800... among a ton of other Star Wars builds.

The site I purchased from (specifically the Lepin Collection): https://www.yourwobb.com/collections/lepin

I can't believe how costly legos are these days.

I was a lego junky when I was a kid. Mom still has all of mine in 3 giant tubs up in the attic.

I loved them as a kid myself, but my son is a LEGOmaniac.

Cost will end up around .10/brick new unless the set has some speciality bricks or motor.

You can get great deals at Target and Amazon when they are on sale.

I purchased a lot of used bricks on eBay, cleaned them, and put them in the rotation for filler/extras. Lego is as great way to develop a child’s imagination.

My son and I recently built the Claus tractor set with rotating cab. I added duels on because it looks cooler. :D

My mom has all of our Legos as well. I’m going to get my hands on them one of these days when she’s not looking.

This is awesome! Thanks for sharing! There are a lot of out of production sets that my son sees in books and on YouTube ...he really wants them, but they are insanely expensive on eBay. This gives me some options.

If you are over 30-never buy brix kits. I have a helmet I have started 3 times.

I now have the 12 year old girl putting it together for me. Damn small pieces.

Very interesting

So just generic LEGO blocks or clones? Do they have the LEGO stamped into the heads of the studs? Very interested in the star destroyer because that’s one of the few UCS sets I don’t have and have so far refused to pay the price for it.

Thanks for the info.

Took grandkids to walmart over the weekend so they could blow some $$. Granddaughter bought a lego set for $16 + tax. Same one is $9 on yourwobb. I showed her the site last night along with the price.
She's pissed off at walmart. ROFL
It was also a good teaching moment.:D

Well they're not EXACTLY the same. A read a few reviews online and while it is largely the same, the manufacturing and quality control isn't quite up to lego's standards. Apparently from time to time you'll see sprue marks and other slight imperfections on the bricks. It wouldn't bother me or my child, but you wouldn't be able to trick a hardcore collector into buying it or anything.

BTW I intend to buy a ton of mini figures for my son. They are about 75 cents on AliExpress.com...that's worth waiting a month for shipping. I can get him the entire star wars and ninjago collections (and the Lord of the Rings stuff for me :))
