We were at $3.69 here, then it went down to $3.62 for a few days. Then, it jumped to $3.79 overnight.

$4.02 is now the national average... $5 a gallon, here we come!

Bowser 06-09-2008 11:50 AM

Just filled up at 3.91 here in KC. Donger is almost at full wood.

Sure-Oz 06-09-2008 12:18 PM

This is what happens when the market does not control the price anymore..

That sounds like an awesome idea on paper.. But the oil companies would do it and then only charge 10-20 cents less a gallon then what they get it from OPEC... YOu need to think like a scumbag corporate officer to understand how to screw people..

I like his optimism but there's too many skeptics controlling the price of oil.

One thing that is "nice" is FINALLY seeing so many people make efforts to curtail their driving and trying to save fuel. Some don't have much choice though because they commute to work every day. My wife is interviewing for a job with a significant paycut but it would mean almost NO driving so she would probably break even as opposed to a 30 mile round trip commute 5 days a week. How bad is it when I make a special effort to call her and tell her to fill up so she can the get the "cheap" 3.78 gas? $3.78 GAS!!!! And it's going NOWHERE BUT UP! Terrible.

Alrighty. Nat'l avg is over $4. Time to take my money I've made in Euro's and put it into the Oil Services Industry. Who's with me?

I dont know how much curtailing people have done to actually make much of a difference?

I live in a big city, and i still see the same amount of traffic on the roads as there has always been. Same congestion. Nothing has changed. People will always need to drive obviously. I think people have learned to cut back in other areas of their life to save money.

smittysbar 06-11-2008 10:33 AM

I topped off my boat the other day, about a half a tank. I about shit myself. Guess I will be driving straight to party cove and dropping anchor.

On the bright side, I have a good excuse to not pull people on a ****ing tube anymore.
