Football Season is Over: Hunter S Thompson
Just to bring a bit of joy to an already awesome day ;)
Then, on February 16th, Hunter decided to leave a goodbye note. Scrawled in black marker, it was appropriately titled “Football Season Is Over.”Hunter was really talking to himself. Here, published for the first time, are perhaps his final written words: No More Games. No More Bombs. No More Walking. No More Fun. No More Swimming. 67. That is 17 years past 50. 17 more than I needed or wanted. Boring. I am always bitchy. No Fun — for anybody. 67. You are getting Greedy. Act your old age. Relax — This won’t hurt. At the bottom of the page, Hunter drew a happy heart, the kind found on Valentine’s cards. Four days later, on February 20th, he committed suicide by firing his pistol into his mouth. https://izquotes.com/quotes-pictures...son-272412.jpg |

Bob Sutton is a good dude who is honest. He is going to retire.
|
I hope CP passes through the psychotic rage grief stage quickly.
|
Did bob Sutton take his life yet?

Two thoughts:
1. This guy wrote Irsay a letter complaining that they had drafted Manning over Leaf. So, if anyone is contemplating suicide because of this man, just know that he liked Ryan Leaf. 2. He was a huge Colts fan and the Colts won a Super Bowl two years later. So just know that if anyone is so despondent that they take their own life, we've probably locked things up a couple years forward. |
Thompson was an alcoholic trapped in a bad marriage. He was also clearly depressed. I am in my 60s, retired, and enjoying life in a way not possible in my 20s.

Who the hell is Hunter S. Thompson?

Really, really good ones. Most famous for sneaking into Nixon's caravan on the 1972 campaign and writing 'Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72'. Johnny Depp and Bill Murray have portrayed him in feature films based on his work. He also wrote for Rolling Stone and ESPN.com, well-known and renown for his biting commentary and acerbic wit. People who read know about him. |
As someone who's about to turn 50 and really struggling with it - this was just awesome to read. Thanks OP!
