What choice did he have at this point? The wheels are flying off this season and while I don't suspect this will matter at all, something had to be done.

I don't figure this will change our defensive performance much anyway. We aren't getting any push and no matter how well Peters plays, he can't cover the whole field. And frankly, he wasn't playing that well to begin with.

We were gonna give up 30+ either way; this changes very little.

I bet Peters is just fine with being suspended. Peters quit on the team several games ago and would rather just go play with Lynch. Chiefs need to trade him, he's gone at first chance. Peters doesn't give a shit about the Chiefs and he thinks he's better than Kansas City.

Not to say I'm disagreeing with the idea of suspending the dude, but I don't think it's really going to matter. I don't think Reid commands the sort of respect in the lockerroom right now that making an example out of one player will really pay dividends with on-field play.

They need to be getting the younger players out there for reps. Bench the players that aren't performing. They won't do it though.

Should've dinged him a game about 5 weeks ago; whenever he had that crazy goddamn meltdown with Sutton.

I said at the time that if he's behaving that way in victories (I believe it was over Houston) then all hell is going to break loose if/when they start losing. I never figured it would be this bad, but there was no question that Peters wouldn't respond well to it.

I don't think he got suspended for the flag toss - it was something else. He's having discipline issues in practice or something. The flag toss meant absolutely nothing in the grand scheme and Kelce doing essentially the same thing never got him punished. This is about more than the penalty.

It never should've gotten this far with him. They gave him too much rope and here we are; in freefall with our best corner suspended for the biggest game of the year. Aces.

Nice to finally see someone in this organization sack up and hold someone accountable for their actions. Have to think this might have come from the top.

Are you as dense as Peters appears? Despite what Andy said, this about WAY more than the penalty. This about the lack of focus and effort that has warranted two long threads on this site. Take stupid antics and add it with little or no effort on a litany of plays and Peters attitude needs adjusted big time.

Del Rio has a hatred for the Chiefs like Marty had a hatred for the Raiders.
My guess is the Raiders will come ready to play. They know The Chiefs are at a low point...

I agree...it's just hard for me to be on board with suspending Peters when Kelce threw a flag at a ref and was actually ejected and not suspended, just looks bad to me.

I agree that he does and I think Kelce should've been suspended and Peters as well...

Kelce's made enough boneheaded mistakes this year that Reid should have suspended him and if he had, maybe the Chiefs wouldn't be 1-6 in their last 7 games.

Reid's complacency led to the Chiefs downfall this season.

I will remind you of when he was ACTUALLY EJECTED AFTER THROWING A FLAG AT A REF....

Oh and when he totally quit on a play to throw his hands up and whine and pout...
