Well, it's not like he went to a team with 8 Pro Bowlers or anything. The only reason KC won only 2 games is the turnovers and the worst QB play in NFL history. Everyone with a brain knows that.

Besides PFF has Alex as a Top 10-12 QB the last 2 years and if KC gets that kind of play will win 10-11 games.

Becareful when you fight Knowmos, lest you become one.

Vollmer's 4-yr deal w/ NE includes $7m signing bonus, another $7.75m in base salaries + $10m in roster bonuses/incentives. Almost $25m max.

Since we've got you in the thread, Bad Guy, how are you feeling on the prospects of trading down, or trading Albert?

Volmmer deal will have $8.25 million guaranteed

Some confusion has surfaced as to whether the Patriots and tackle Sebastian Vollmer have agreed to terms. Per a source with knowledge of the situation, they have.

The four-year contract will pay $8.25 million Vollmer guaranteed, and it will have a base value of $17 million. Another $9 million will be available in playing-time incentives and roster bonuses, along with a $1 million Pro Bowl bonus.

Vollmer, a German-born player who arrived via round two of the 2009 draft, didn’t draw a lot of interest in free agency, presumably because no one believed he wanted to leave New England.

He didn’t. And he won’t be.

Probably will turn out to be a better deal than Smiff when it's all said and done but that won't be saying much.

Exactly how could it ever turn out to be a better deal?

The Chiefs didn't give up a 1.

The Raiders won 7 games with Palmer. 7 games for 12.5 million over that time.
Plus, you're giving up a 2nd rounder this year for a guy not on your roster on top of a 1 last year.

Alex Smith would have to break his neck in training camp and never play again for this to be a worse trade.

Stop the bullshit spin.

Interesting: now "highly unlikely" Carson Palmer will be willing to restructure his contract meaning OAK pays him $13 million or cuts him.

You need to be higher than 3 if you want your pick of Geno or Barkley.

Palmer had a lot more upside than Alex does. They paid a lot, took a risk and fell flat on their face. The result may not have worked, but I admire the stones to be agressive at the QB spot for a guy that might have some elite years left in him. In the end, good move with a bad result just like busting out on a 1st round QB.

Raiders didn't give him nothing to work with, especially on Defense.. 4000+ yard passer on a decent team would have been a playoff team

If KC gets Top 10 QB play they win 10-11 games for sure. JFC did anyone watch the games last year? You'll never win games turning it over 3-4 times every week. That shouldn't be a problem in 2013. I didn't say they would as it's highly unlikely, but if he's the guy Reid/Dorsey think he is they will.

PFF is a better indicator than Joe Slapdick BTW.

Might have had some elite years in him? Based on what?

The guy hasn't played at a high level in 5 years and the Raiders paid a mint for him.

The Chiefs make that move and they get crushed for it.

In the end, it was a horrid move that cost a #17 in 2012 and the 35th in 2013 for a QB who was showing signs he's been finished since 2009 with diminished arm strength and poor decisions.
