Chiefs claim Allen, waive Koroma

Chiefs claim C Jack Allen, waive injured C Tejan Koroma
Matt Derrick August 5, 2018

Hey KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Chiefs moved quickly to bolster their depth at center after Tejan Koroma went down with a knee injury, claiming center Jack Allen off waivers from Chicago.

Allen, a 6-foot-2, 296-pound lineman, entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the New Orleans Saints in 2016. He spent most of the season on the club’s practice squad before earning promotion to the active roster for the last few weeks of the season.

The Saints waived Allen with an injury designation in August 2017 and he spent the season on injured reserved. He signed with the Bears in July and the club waived him on Saturday.

The former Michigan State lineman has not played in a regular season game. He earned first-team All-American and All-Big Ten honors during his senior season in 2015.

Koroma, a 6-foot, 290-pound center from BYU, suffered a right knee injury during practice on Sunday. He underwent an MRI in the afternoon for a suspected torn ACL. He had been running at center with the Chiefs’ second-team offense.

If Koroma clears waivers, he will return to the Chiefs on injured reserved.

Lineman seem to be the chief concern

I cherish the day we actually have a competent OL without huge questions.

Willie Roaf would be an upgrade at tackle

Our OL is competent.

We've got above average starters at 4 positions, and I'd say the entire right side (LDT and Schwartz) are top 5 at their positions. Fisher and Morse are serviceable.

One spot (LG), provided the guy isn't Mike McGlynn-level bad, isn't going to take down the entire ****ing offensive line.

Yes, Erving isn't ideal, but I'm waiting to see how he does in preseason. I'll join the pitchfork and torches mob with the rest of you if he ends up sucking dick on Thursday.

You know, considering that this literally could be applied to any bad scenario with this franchise, this is a wildly underused pun.

Also, great pun.

OKchiefs literally knows nothing about football or baseball. He watched Alex's terrible pocket presence and just figured it was our O-line was trash.

No, THIS is a MAN. . .

Look at where [and how] he starts compared to the DB at full sprint

In the run game, dude would line up, make a train whistle noise, pump his arm like a conductor pulling the whistle, then POINT OUT the lane he was about to open to the D-Line. Then he'd pancake everyone in the way anyway.

325 lbs, 4.8 40, 700lb bench.

Willie Roaf
Brian Waters
Casey Wiegmann
Will Shields
John Tait

People use to complain about John Tait and Wiegmann's size. LMAO
