Need advice on cutting cable cost.

My last bill from Att was $215...sick of paying that much to watch only a few shows. I dont want to cut the cord from cable entirely. I would like to keep basic cable and internet, but still be able to watch the shows I like on HBO and showtime. I`m already a netflix subscriber, any other suggestions ? Can you buy season passes for most of the shows on HBO and Showtime?

Thanks!

Just ditch it. You'll miss it less than you think.

I pay $50 a month for a pretty good internet connection and I don't miss any of my shows.

Internet, Netflix, Hulu.

cut it completely and go with internet and a attic antenna.

If you have any cool friends that have HBO maybe offer them some sort of monthly payment to use their HBOGO? Or I will give you an invite to a really good torrent site, and you can ditch HBO or really all cable.

Damn, $215? I just do what Buck said. Mine is about $50 too. I'm not a big TV freak anyway, but you can work around stuff for the most part.

If you know someone with HBO then see if they will let you use their HBO GO account. Works really well on PC or XBOX

$215? Wow.

I have Direct TV Premium, the HD Package, maintenance package, whole home networking with five DVR's and my bill is $168 per month w/tax.

I have a TWC package with 2 VOIP lines, so there's a "discount". It's $44.95, $29.95 for the first line and $24.95 for the second, so $110 with tax per month.

I think that $215 includes his internet. Which would make a hell of a lot more sense.

Oh, he didn't specify and I'm too dumb to read between the lines.

I've seen U-Verse, TWC and whatever my parents have (Everest? Cox?) and IMO, nothing is even close to Direct TV in terms of picture, HD channels, audio and On Demand Options.

I was shocked to se that U-verse is limited in on demand. With DTV, I can download any series or film airing to my DVR. Same with my parents service.
