Rocky "Soul Man" Johnson has passed
 

The Soul Patrol is no more:( Many might know him as The Rocks father but I remember him as the tag team of Rocky and Tony Atlas the first African American tag team. He started in the National Wrestling Alliance later joining WWE. RIP Soul Man!

I saw them both at the Chase Park Hotel in STL in the early 80's. I believe this was during the time when Vince McMahon began to buy up the territories.

Rocky Johnson was as the forefront of the commercialization of WWE right around the time of Bruno Sammartino. Just a few years before the gimmicks of the late 70's early 80's.
