News hitting today that AMC has already ordered a 13-episode 2nd season (1st is only 6...) although the show is still two months from premeiring.

I may be missing something because I didn't read the comics, but isn't the opening a rip off of 28 Days Later? Guy wakes up in a hospital, sees destruction all around, has a close encounter with zombies, then runs into a couple of survivors, etc.

Don't get me wrong, this show still look like it's going to be incredible, it just seemed like that part of the trailer was a blatant rip off.

Same here. Show looks cool, but the setup is EXACTLY the same.

That's pretty much any zombie movie ever made.

It's a convenient way to start the story in a post apocalyptic world without actually having to show the apocalypse.
