2018 East-West Shrine Game

Tomorrow on NFLN at 2pm CT.

Anyone we should be watching who is playing in the game?

I also noticed the NFLPA Bowl is on FS1 at 3pm CT tomorrow.

Another player to watch -

Marcus Martin is an interesting prospect from Slippery Rock.

Very productive Div II player with 56 sacks in his college career, but 6-1, 250 with 31 1/2 inch arms, not the ideal size.

Wilson8 01-20-2018 01:09 AM

Marcus will be #33 on the East Roster

Was reading good things about Fountain, Worley, and Senat from various draft sources. One of which was Great Blue North practice reports.

There are some videos of East West Shrine Game practices on YouTube from Football Gameplan.

Some WRs that looked good in the few plays that you can see -

DaeSean Hamilton WR #5 Penn State 6-0 5/8 207 Seems quick and runs good routes. He had 214 catches, 2,842 yards and 18 TDs at Penn State. NFLDraftScout.com has him as a 5th round pick.

Jester Weah WR #81 Pittsburgh 6-2 1/4 213. Career Stats at Pitt, 77 catches, 1,566 yards and 14 TDS.

Daurice Fountain WR #10 Northern Iowa 9 1/2 hands 34 1/2 arms 79 wingspan 6-1 5/8 210 Already mentioned before but looked really good in practice videos. Career stats at UNI 150 catches 2,077 yards and 23 TDs.

Deadrin Senat DT #98 USF 9 1/2 hand 32 3/8 arms 77 wingspan 6-0 1/8 322
Can see #98 here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVl4frcDvcU
Look for #98 with USF white gold helmet (green under shirt). Orange helmet #98 is someone else. Deadrin looks quick. Runs right past OL.

This is the guy who I read that the Chiefs and Bills were very highly interested in.

Hey look, it's Patrick's replacement from TTU starting for the west team at QB.

The Chiefs have absolutely no business drafting a WR this year but #10 is a stud

I'd much rather sign someone from the deep FA class. We're already so young at WR as it is.

There’s just no room unless they’re giving up on someone.

Hill, Conley, Robinson, Chesson, Kemp, Deiter.

Kielce, Hill, Hunt and Conley are the top 4 targets. I think Kemp and Chesson have big upsides and the Chiefs will at least try to bring back Albert Wilson.

It’d be a waste of resources.

I certainly wouldn't want to bring in any potential egotistical issue players. With Kelce and Hill eating up a large chunk of the targets, it's hard to please everyone (a good reason for letting Maclin go IMO).

But if they decide to bring in a reliable veteran, I wouldn't be opposed. Maybe they think Kemp or Dieter have potential that can be tapped into and in that case I'd pass, but if they see them more as fodder after this year on the PS then I'd find someone on the market.

Kemp was on the playoff roster, so I don’t think they’d view him as “fodder”.

I think he has the most upside of the young guys, including Chesson and Conley.

He just needed experience in a Pro Style offense.

We've got some pretty big receivers behind Hill, which I like. Gonna need guys who work well with the scramble drill IMO. But having those big receivers for a guy who likes to give them chances at QB shouldn't be a bad thing.

If we assume they like their receivers, and maybe want Wilson back, then I'd really like to see Norwell offered a deal. Not too much, but market value. I don't expect it though because some team flush with cap space will probably give him $12-14M a year. By draft day, it'd be nice to be able to lock in on the defensive side of the ball as much as possible.
