So happy to not be a 49ers fan right now... I hate that douche.

Alex will demand more money than what Cutler got.

Hello franchise tag.

Dayze 06-04-2014 02:28 PM

all I remember of him is him being an option type qb. He may not be, but that's all I remember of him.

Kaepernick? I'm not sure of the history there. I was just talking in general. When you've got a top player at a key position, and he's due for a deal, waiting and low balling allows time for another team to sign a similar player for a high number, and that raises the bar for the first guy.

ah. I see. makes sense.

Chief Roundup 06-04-2014 02:30 PM

Geez oh petes. Looks like it has become common place to overpay your QB. Kaepernick is not worth that money. I don't believe he ever will be either.
We are so screwed now. Alex is going to get a deal that will be just below this in total dollars and hopefully half of the guaranteed money as well.
Just stupid.

Man i really hope he implodes and screws the 49ers for years.

Dayze 06-04-2014 02:31 PM

I'm excited for the 2017 season when we trade for him

Dayze 06-04-2014 02:32 PM

...and, wasn't Vernon Davis wanting a new deal too?

Even if he plays great and stays healthy there's a lot of talent on that team they won't be able to pay in a few years...

Yes, and they've got a guard (Alex Boone) who's no-showing because he wants a new deal, too.

ChiefsCountry 06-04-2014 02:36 PM

49ers have a ton of talent that is basically being redshirted. They are in fine shape.

very true, but it will be even better if he fails to develop like Vick and the entire team turns into a gigantic pile of shit. LMAO

I thought Denver proved the cap doesn't really matter? More like guidelines.
