computer question

I often get these "registry cleaner" popups that say that I am infected by something or other and I need to do this. It is free until its diagnosed, then it costs money. This is a scam right? Sorry, i'm a huge computard.

thanks

Sounds like a good option but I took all of my windows based machines to the shooting range about 3 years ago so I'm not sure about anything microsoft anymore.

Are you saying you have the same problem on a non-Windows machine and are looking for suggestions or just telling us an anecdote for the fun of it?

100% Gratis

dude, don't play around with registery cleaners. They have hosed too many non-techies. Just stay away from them. The benefits don't outweigh the disasterous effects if done wrong like unable to boot etc.

Just funning around.I'm completely happy with my Macs.Overpriced maybe, but for me they work every damn time and do just exactly what I need them to do without all of the bullshit that's common with windows.

My brother swears by his Mac... I've given it a fair shake but it's just not my thing.
