Let's come at this a different way. Denver just faced th second best rushing offense in the league but, according to you, Denver can't stop the run. How did Denver stop it?

The Vikings were averaging 4.8 YPC prior to playing in Denver. They averaged 5.4 YPC against Denver.

Keep trying, though..

Stats are fun. Denver broke down on the big run and 3-4 big plays on 3rd to keep drives alive. They're not perfect, but they are damn good and the pressure they put on the QB is fun.

The Browns and Raiders should help Den move to 6-0, hell they could lose if Oak puts it all together. Either way, the schedule after the bye is brutal, so they need these next two.

The playoffs are a long way off and this team isn't playing at a balanced high level to expect too much when they advance. I'm cautiously optimistic.

I'm not making up statistics.

Statistically speaking, Denver's run defense is nearly identical to Kansas City's in the two major categories. YPC at 4.0 and TDs allowed are both at 4.

Denver gives up a higher percentage of runs for 1st downs and has allowed more 20+ and 40+ yarders.

... And the Chiefs run defense isn't good.

I know what bad run defense looks like and it doesn't look like this. If you want to see bad run defense go watch the 2007 and 2008 Broncos try to stop the run.

Teams would LOVE to be able to run the ball and avoid our pass rush, but they soon realize they're not getting anywhere with it and abandon it. Denver has an EXCELLENT run defense and it's only going to get better because Derek Wolfe is coming back this week.

Did you write "How to Lie With Statistics" or do you just study it daily. Denver held Minnesota more than 20 yards below their per game average. The yardser carry stat in that game was obviously skewed by the one long run (just like Denver's).

But fundamentally the question remains. If a team can't stop the run shouldn't it have trouble with one of the top running teams in the league?

Hootie 10-05-2015 12:41 PM

who could have ever imagined a Peyton Manning team would be running away with yet another division title?

So surprising.

You are so ****ing stupid it hurts.

Before the game yesterday, the Vikings averaged 30 carries per game.

Your defense only saw 21 of them and that's why they fell short of their yearly average for total yardage.

I agree you can't throw out AP's long run when calculating the average.
However, do you think Minnesota cut their number of runs by almost a third because they realized their run game wasn't working against the Denver D?

Why do you suppose they only ran 21 times? Are they really that dumb? Denver can't stop the run so they decided not to run it?

You are so ignorant of what statistics mean that you're dangerous.

Vikings run defense must be pretty awful. They just let Hillman more than double his career YPC.

Denver has pretty tough sledding after the bye.

I dont think anyone is running away with the West....Chiefs fans are down but I'm not. Going to just sit back and watch this thing play out. Conference games haven even really started yet....

Dear god. You are Knowmo.

Well, then. Let's crown 'em. I wasn't aware until now that the biggest run didn't count.

We've given up two sacks in the last two games. Our pass protection is night and day if you compare the preseason to what it is now. The Chiefs gave us some problems, but as soon as we went into shotgun and used our no huddle, your passrush became nonexistent.

Dear God. You are BlackOp.
