At the end of the day Goodell works for the owners, not the fans, not the players. If he got extended then he is making the owners happy with his performance. As long as he does that he will continue to work and get paid.

It will be worth 200 million if the he meets "incentives" that I assume are tied to the earnings/growth of the NFL during that time period.
