to the ship!
..wait, we still have a Ship, right? |
Rodney Hudson?
|
Maybe he’s another gem like Lucas
|
6'3" 300 lbs 3rd year
|
Picking and developing OL has been a strength of this regime. Somehow, it'll probably work.
|
Wow it’s easy to see why Veach brought him in. Look at his pro day numbers:
6’3 300 lbs 40 Yrd Dash: 5.17 20 Yrd Dash: 2.83 10 Yrd Dash: 1.71 40 Time Range: 5.12 - 5.21 Vertical Jump: 34 Broad Jump: 8'11" 20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.53 3-Cone Drill: 7.65 Benched 225 Pounds: 34 |
Seems athletic.
Better than having Cam Erving play center, he's not good at it. |

Devey at C surprised me (in a good way), so hopefully this guy does too. |

Honestly, if they can make Cam Erving like like a stud, they can do just about anything. |

I wonder if Mahomes just takes the “fight” out of d-linemen. I mean it’s gotta be disheartening that even if you win your matchup he’s just going to roll out and throw 30 yards, all day long. Plus they run extra and are fighting with blockers on all those extended plays. Probably just as worn out as those d-backs we keep hearing about.

If this kid shows out Sunday, our OL depth will look solid still.
But as others have pointed out, a lot of it is because of Mahomes. Ever notice how Rodgers never seems to have a bad offensive line his entire career? Similar playing styles. Defenses play on their heels against those guys. |
I know nothing about this man; Does he have experience with snapping from the shotgun formation or was he mostly used with the QB directly under center? I don't want Mahomes chasing bad snaps all day.

Smith would have folded in instances where Mahomes either escapes or steps up. This ability has made the line look better than it is. |

Who da fuk is that guy?

As long as he washes his ass with rose petals and lavender so Mahomes has a nice floral bouquet when under center I'm good with that.

John Ritter?
|
he filled in for Cam Irving in Cleveland article here
|
He started his first NFL game for the Browns against the Redskins during the 2016 season filling in for an injured Cam Erving. Unfortunately, Reiter himself ended up getting injured. He suffered a torn ACL and his second season can to an abrupt end.
Currently, he seems to be in good spirits. https://www.hogshaven.com/2017/7/14/...reiter-edition |
combing through the forums between the skins and browns - he was looked upon pretty favorably - he did get injured - there's not a ton of Intel on him - but overall everyone seemed to feel he was at least average by NFL standards.
|
The good news is Center is the least important position on the offensive side of the ball.

Based solely on his sideburns, I think he'll do fine.

My money would be on Reiter killing it Sunday. Definitely not being a liability.

There's been a lot of "luck" this year:
the safety injuries giving Lucas a chance to impress us, the T Smith injury giving DOD a chance, even Thomas's broken leg letting Tremon Smith be active on Sundays (not that he has impressed yet, but maybe he gets some Corner snaps just because he's active). I even feel like Houston getting injured is good in a way, it forces Kpass and Speaks to get a lot of snaps and we get to see what they are made of. Maybe Reiter mauls for a week or 2 and then we can feel great letting Morse walk, if we don't already feel like that based on how Devey played. |

Morse is also going to want to be paid, and I don't think you can pay a guy with the kind of concussion history he has. Just had a quick check, Morse PFF grade is 62.5 this season, Devey 57.7. If I could have Devey for $1m or Morse for $5m per year, I'd be with Devey the whole way. |
Cam was a turd with Cleveland and has done quite a bit better here. Maybe they can have a similar situation with this guy? Hell, maybe Cam gave them some intel on this dude.

So how in the world do you commit along term dollars to a player like that? If he comes in at below market rate, I'd take the chance, but I'm afraid he will get more money elsewhere. |

Morse’s broke dick gives Houston and Berry a run for their money.

Biggest thing Morse provides to Andy is his athleticism. He’s one of the best C’s in the league at pulling and getting out in space for screens and zone runs. Devey doesn’t have that kind of athleticism but Reiter does, which makes me hope he shows Andy that he’s the future. |
