Maybe sophisticated was the wrong word but they are definitely more jaded when it comes to movies these days. Anyone around my age or older (48) probably remembers how scary Jaws was when it came out. My kids have watched it and barely flinched.

They both definitely liked the new Star Trek and Battlestar Gallactica more than the originals.

Personally, I thought they sounded like my Sicilian-born great grandfather but regardless, it was a very poor decision on the part of Lucas & Lucasfilm to voice those characters as such.

Thematically, it would have been way cooler if they didn't speak English (or "Basic", as its known in the Star Wars universe) and instead spoke some type of menacing language that needed subtitles.
