Teicher claims the Chiefs were absolutely going to draft Lynch, but weren't going to trade up for him, since they lacked ammo due to tampering.

This is such a gut punch for me.

Pure speculation.

They had ammo, Dorsey just lets the draft fall in his lap and he's going to miss out on a lot of players he has at the top of his board.

Such drama in this thread. It's like watching the GOP attack each other...

Ok, so the Cowboys were wasting their time talking trade with a team that would only trade if the guy the Cowboys wanted was gone?

Whatever you want to believe KnowMo....

The Cowboys were calling every team picking between 15-28 trying to work out a deal. They weren't concerned with who those teams wanted, all they were worried about was finding the best spot at the cheapest price to get their guy.

Yeah I heard that too. He seems 100% convinced of it. Thinks it would have been reality if the NFL hadn't stripped us of the pick, as we could have trumped Denver and because Schneider and Dorsey are buddies. Also claims there was no truth to the Treadwell rumors and said they would have passed on Treadwell had he dropped to them.

If true, it confirms the Chiefs are looking hard at finding a young replacement for Smith to start in a couple of years. Don't know if there are any QB's coming out next year worth drafting early, but if there are, we'll be interested...

Ok thanks. Now we know exactly what happened. Move over Adam Schefter!

Also worth noting, according to that article it was the Chiefs that called the Cowboys.

It's clear as day that Dorsey desperately wanted to trade down and make up for that 3rd rounder and/or have more picks in a deep draft.

We've lacked two 2nd rd picks and a 3rd in 4 years of this regime, and it was Andy's doing.

Dorsey has had his picks and he stayed put that year and It netted us Marcus Peters, so I'm good with that.

Next year we have a 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 6. Next year is the year to use that ammo and get a QB.

We'll have three 6th's?

Is that after losing one from the tampering penalty?

Also, where's our 7th?

My bad. We lost a 6th, not 7th. So as it stands

1
2
3
3-Sean Smith
4
4-Chase Daniel
5
6-Donald Stephenson
6-Tyvonn Branch
7

Are we really expecting a 4th for Chase Daniel. The guy is unlikely to start a single game.

Of course the Chiefs didn't want Lynch. Why would anyone think otherwise?

BlackOp 05-05-2016 01:05 PM

KC's interest in Lynch makes no sense...he has never played in a pro-style offense and is, supposedly, terrible at reading the entire field. He is the exact opposite of the QB they drafted out of Stanford. It's post-draft rumor bullshit...

I'm glad they didn't draft him...and ever happier Denver did. He's a late 2nd round/3rd QB in a normal year. By the time he see's the field...that defense will be done. The draft picks they gave up would have kept the defense valid.

They have Sanchez in a new system and a suspect 0L...what could go wrong?
