What sense does that make?

You play Luke at RT and he busts you waste a pick but it doesn't hurt you on the field. You trade Albert and replace him with a bust and you suffer on the field and wasted a pick to do it.

I never stated I liked the move. I don't, but I can see why they might.

Keep in mind Dorsey has stated over and over and over that he wants to take the BAA. That means sometimes that player doesn't even start.

I just don't see how it improves the team to draft a tackle at 1.1

If you deal Albert for a first from someone like the Dolphins and draft Lane Johnson at 1.12, I can SORT OF see that. But Lane Johnson is basically what Albert was when he was drafted, so.... eh.

CARL PETERSON: “I am here to announce that we have an agreement with our number one draft choice, Mr. Glenn Dorsey. It’s a six-year contract voidable to five (years). I’m glad that it’s done. He missed two rained-out practices and this morning’s. He’s on his way right now from Minneapolis and he will be on the practice field at 3:30 (PM). That will conclude our signings of draft choices at this time.
May have something to do with the voidable year? No clue if that is a fact or not...

Voidable years are basically player options. The signing bonus is prorated over that additional year to provide cap relief in the prior years of the agreement. However, the pro-rated portion of the signing bonus is still on the books whether the player remains or does not.
