We can now officially list Berry as "Season to Season"

InChiefsHeaven 01-12-2019 11:43 AM

I hope Watkins isn’t a repeat of Maclin vs the Patriots

Spend more money on the safety position.

I don't really care about Berry's contract. He can't be trusted. This is the position we're in, and we need competent safety play if we want to take full advantage of the cheap years of Mahomes.

This franchise from 2002-2009 once spent three top 10 draft picks, 3 second rounders, and 3 third rounders on the DT position. No, not DL... specifically DT.

How many "solutions" did they end up finding? Some guys stuck around longer than others, but basically zero.

Nobody likes to overspend on one position, but it's gotta happen. If the Chiefs give a shit at all, they need HUGE upgrades from Ron Parker and Eric Murray, and they shouldn't factor Berry into their plans at starting safety even if he sticks around and gets the surgery. So going into next year, if they stood pat, we'd be left with Armani Watts, Jordan Lucas, and a bag of dicks.

Go spend the ****ing money on Earl Thomas. Or somebody. Use your resources and try to fix the problem once and for all.

And for God's sake fire Bob Sutton

They're going to have to draft one if they want somebody that's upper echelon. It's the Chiefs. They're not going to give a fat contract to Earl Thomas with Berry still on the books. After the whole Thomas thing went down, all reports were that the Chiefs viewed him as a 1-year rental.

They only need a competent safety if they fire Bob Sutton. His scheme requires too much for Berry's position - Berry is exceptional and can handle it. I don't think you need to spend a ton on safety...unless you keep Bob Sutton. If you keep Sutton, you'll need to get an elite presence at the position from the draft or from FA. Save Money and expand your options in the draft...get rid of Bob.

We knew since Wed. he probably wasn't going to play. Where are these people coming from who are shocked about it NOW?

Oh go cry elsewhere you phony "tough guy"...calling Berry a "p#ssy" online must make you feel so damn brave huh? YOU'RE A COWARD, plain and simple :) .

Oh, and go look up the word "racist" in the dictionary, as you clearly don't have a damn clue what it actually means.

It's just the same old crybabies who have been crying and throwing their toys out of their prams since Berry first got injured. Any excuse they have they moan and moan and pretend as if THEY are paying his wages and they are doctors so they know what heel pain feels like on a football field. It's utterly pathetic  .

All the "just pay the man, it's not our money" people have to understand that most of our safety money is tied up in Eric Berry for a couple of years. This is what happens when you "just pay the man". We are going to have to draft guys to play safety. Ron Parker is hitting our cap TWICE right now, 2 million from one contract and $630k from his new contract. :shake:

Safety cap numbers:
Berry - 13 million
Sorenson - 5.2m
Parker - 2m + 630k
Murray - 700k
Lucas - 630k
Watts - 555k
Durham - 363k

The safety position is a complete mess.

Parker's $2 million from his old contract expires this season. It won't be a problem next year.

This, we either just live with Beery and his money or live without Berry and his money!

Either way it is a lose/lose situation that some of the crybaby's here can not see! The fans have to realize it's not their money, the Chiefs are going to do do what is the best interest for them.

It’s not about crybaby, it’s about filling our roster with football players not cheerleaders with questionable spirit.
