Will you ride the world's tallest water slide?
SCHLITTERBAHN
It could take a while to climb the 264 steps to the top of the new water slide at Schlitterbahn. It won’t take that long to get back down at 65 mph or so. The Verrückt — German for insane — will be the tallest and fastest water slide in the world when it opens next year at the Kansas City, Kan., water park. Read more here: http://www.kansascity.com/2013/11/19...#storylink=cpy Here’s a view from the top of the Verrückt water slide. You’ll have to climb 264 stairs to see this in real life. I will ride it.
I will also shit my pants. |
yes yes yes! Just counting down the days!
|
Hell to the yeah...
This 210lbs old man could get some serious speed on that. I would probably break something but it would be fun as hell. |

Aww it's in 4 person rafts. That's not scary.

And that's why you use swim diapers. Awesome that they befouled the park because they likely had to close it down for the rest of the day. Yes I'm bitter. My kids had a day at the waterpark ruined by some dumbass parent who didn't put their kid in a swim diaper. |
If it were single person slide, that would be sweet.

Hell yeah I would.

Uhhh, yeah. I like roller coasters and other thrill rides as much as the next guy, but that doesn't look very safe.

There is a reason why they strap you in, lock you down, and make sure the cars are secure on the track on a rollercoaster. http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m3...vmn0o1_500.gif |

The middle one in this picture is kind of scary. When you get in it looks like you are just going to fall off of the edge. Then when you go out the water kind of shoots you out and you lose contact with the slide, which is somewhat unsettling. Then you quickly lose momentum and you stop before you even get to the bottom pool. |

shouldn't the ledges be a weep bit higher? Seems like you could catch one at that speed and be air born.

No. **** no.

I'm gonna be pissed if I die on this thing.
|
Some of you would never last in a Miami locker room.
|
Someone please bump this in 2 years when someone dies or gets critically injured from this slide.
|
Already made plans to go based on this slide.

I nominate Alice Smith to break ground on this spectacular new ride.

I'm actually relieved to know that it's actually a "coaster" in that you're strapped into a vehicle that (will presumably) be fixed onto the "track" in some way. Otherwise, it seems like a death trap.

Nothing will ever be as lawless and dangerous as ACTION PARK (worth a watch!)

Just inflate a raft, set it on top of your car with four people in it (no need to tie it down) and drive to Schlitterbaun. It is just as safe and a whole lot cheaper. And no stairs to climb. |
I'm sure they've got the physics figured out and it's safer than it feels.
Having said that, hell muthafuggin no... |

This thread isn't very CP. All of you can single-handedly defeat 10 ninjas with death punches and machine guns, but get around a water slide and everyone backs down.
|
Waterparks are disgusting. Why would you ever go?

I have zero desire to go to NYC. The wife is constantly trying to get me to go. I'd rather light my money on fire.

Hell yeah I'm going to ride it. Backwards. That's right. I will swim up the slide in about 12 seconds flat.

If I was going to do a market segmentation of Chiefsplanet, I think that the desire to visit New York City would be a very telling variable. I bet it relates to a lot of other attitudes.
I bet there's a white paper in here somewhere. |
NYC is a fun trip. I've been 3x. I don't really have any desire to go back but it's a great city.
|
hell ya, I love a free adrenaline rush!

I would for money. That bump is pretty scary, I'm worried I would fly completely off the slide.
|
no-I have no desire to go that fast and be thrust off the last hill--then pull my shorts out of my butt.
