Well Scott found his next sucker to fall for the "Cassel can run your offensive scheme" arguement. Any OC who falls for this deserves to get canned when Cassel performs as expected. I know we'll somehow, provided Charles is back to speed, pull out 7 or 8 wins a season and we'll be fed the line, "Cassel is developing we just need a little more time..." until the day Pioli is escorted out of One Arrowhead Drive.

If Daboll is every bit the hot head Haley was
Zorn may stay on just to be the midseason replacement

Romeo Crennel Says Brian Daboll Had Multiple Suitors

The Kansas City Chiefs made it official and hired Brian Daboll as their new offensive coordinator. In the release provided by the team a few minutes ago, Daboll and head coach Romeo Crennel are quoted about the move.

"This is a great opportunity," Daboll said. "After meeting with Romeo, it was clear to me Kansas City was a good fit. I have a lot of respect for Romeo and a strong appreciation for the Kansas City Chiefs franchise. Romeo and I have similar ideas on the direction of the program and we have a good core group of players to get started with. I'm ready to get in as soon as possible and start working to be a part of something special."

With the injured guys like Jamaal Charles and Tony Moeaki coming back, the Chiefs do have the pieces in place to be a very dynamic offense.

"Brian is a fine football coach and offensive mind," said Crennel. "I worked with him when he was a young coach in New England and I am proud of the way his career has developed. We had a very thorough process for this position and it was clear to me that Brian was the right choice. He was coveted by multiple teams and I am glad he will be joining our staff."

Interesting tidbit from Crennel there -- Daboll was "coveted by multiple teams". I'm not sure who those teams were -- they never made it to the public -- but I found it interesting he noted that in his quote

I still want to know who in Miami wanted Kyle Orton. Was it Sparano or Daboll?

This hire IMO has desperate written all over it.

If Daboll gets a presser it will be questions about his thoughts on Cassel
It either won't happen or "I haven't had to time see any of the tape yet...."

Epic Fail 007 02-06-2012 01:17 PM

There is nothing wrong with this hire. You haters will be kissing his ass after next season.

Micjones 02-06-2012 01:18 PM

Just sign Manning and it won't matter.

That's because the NFL is one of the most risk-averse, good ole boys clubs on the face of the Earth...

There also needs to be some questions on his role in the "Orton to Miami trade" that fell through right before last season.

As a quarterback's coach.

There are 3 or 4 teams left in the NFL that are still picking rotten fruit from the BB tree. For the most part, teams have gotten wise to that horseshit.

How many coordinator gigs are even left open right now? I don't think the Packers have filled theirs, but they have an intelligent front office and not just a bunch of follower shitheads, so they're not getting near a BB castoff.

The Browns still have an opening, right? Yeah, gotta figure they're not looking this joker's way.

No, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that Romeo may be technically correct, but fundamentally full of shit.

You can say that about a lot of things around 1 Arrowhead these days...

Okie_Apparition 02-06-2012 01:21 PM

Sure
Sparano wanted him for a QB coach
